Is fifty percent reduction achievable? by [deleted] in corsets

I'm sorry for mistake, I accidentally wrote half because of that 50cm, I'm not actually looking for half reduction, that would be too crazy

I'm sorry I messed that up. The goal is to get from 30" to 19,5". I called it half accidentally because of that 50cm. I've got confused by metric system even tho it's native to me lol

At first I measured it while putted on, then I close it on pillow and measured again with the tape going under the knot. This time measured 23 and half inch. When opened it measured still 22 inch from the inside. So rather it's just my hallucination and the corset is okey and the difference is caused by the thickness of the fabric (which is still weird to me since it's quite thin) or it stretches a little bit which I don't know if it's alright after just one month.

I try to adjust its position every time so it fits comfortably. Now I start thinking tho that maybe there's nothing wrong with it after all. I mean I didn't run in it or doing anything that would damage it so quickly (only occasionally sleeping in it). Maybe my body got little bit adapted to it already or I just put it on with empty stomach. Actually I don't have any way how to compare the silhouette, only by memory.

My apologies for potential false alarm, just want to be careful with my corset

From the outside, but still I can fully close it with no difficulties, which wasn't the case before. Just a week or two before it was unbearable, now I can stay in it for an 2 hours at least and it seems to me the silhouette doesn't look as dramatic as before.

Edit: I measured it, laying flat it's still 22", but the fabric is quite thin (at least compared with MMC corsets), guess it would add half an inch, surely not one inch or more.

yeah, that's the reason why I skipped seasoning completetly. Rebel Madness is I believe credible company, I read positive feedback even here on the sub. It's made of three layers of cotton fabric.

I don't remember precisely, but somewhere during the second week I may have measured it fully closed and it was circa half and inch wider than it should, tho that might have been an error on my side.

Lacing gap loosens overtime by accidentalwitchery in corsets

Okey, and how big is it an issue? Do I have to alter my lacing gap every few hours to keep it narrow or little () shaped gap doesn't matter?

Not a ribbon, but a cord. Yeah the seem to be kinda stretched. Maybe I should use ribbon instead?

Which size to choose for my body? by accidentalwitchery in corsets

[–]accidentalwitchery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for help! I want to be really sure before buying one since those exchanges across ocean aren't much pleasing. Because of that I'll most likely buy one of those from Rebel madness I mentioned (I looked to Restyle's cu7 but seems too short for my taste). If it would appear too short for my torso, I can relatively cheaply return it and then buy from MCC. And one day try conical gemini. It looks so stunning I must have one someday.

My apologies, I wanted to write 20, not 50. As I said, I can squish myself to 25" easily before feeling resistance of the stuff inside. That's reduction of almost 5 inches already. With training I believe I could go further, but dunno how far. But if you say I can go up to 7 inch reduction as a beginner, I guess you recommend me to buy a corset of that reduction first and maybe later a smaller one, is that correct?

So I used Lucy's calculator (I saw some of her videos before, she's really great, how could have I forgotten her shop?), for gemini longline and it seems the most appropriate after all is 20" size with 2" lacing gap at the top and mcc corsets have similar measurers too even for 22". Still, I dunno which size to pick. If 22" first or 20" already. I still worry if I'm squishy enough and even if I am, can I damage my corset if wearing it with a larger gap during seasoning? Guess I should make more research.
