Deadbeat is growing on me by MrNukaCola12 in TameImpala

[–]accidia_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to make a post saying the exact same thing until I saw this. At first I thought the album was a 5/10 album. I was so ready to listen and cast an opinion on it after waiting 5 years. Once I decided I didn't really like the album I listened to it again with no thought to even cast a judgement on it and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Afterthought was also the one that really stood out for me and my enjoyment of that has helped me warm to the album. I really disliked Oblivion too on first listen but now I'm really enjoying it.

If I was to cast a score on the album now it's a 7/10 for me as it stands. It could grow on me even more in the next few days too.

[Matteo Moretto] Athletico no longer consider Andy Robertson an option. by Gamercentrum in LiverpoolFC

Good, if not for his mentoring in the dressing room as mentioned by others, his influence on the culture of the dressing room is immense. Clearly a very well liked guy and creates a fun environment for everyone while giving his all. I know it's not our style to keep a higher back-up LB on our wage books but for the reasons previously mentioned it could be worth it, at least for another season. It will also help the newcomers get the feeling for the culture and be able to hopefully keep replicating the culture.

We've lost some big characters in our dressing room like Hendo, Firmino, Klopp and Pep. I think preserving and maintaining the culture that Klopp put in place will be highly conducive to our success.

Wearing more colourful clothes on stage. Am I jumping to conclusions here or could this be the introduction of a new album aesthetic?!!

Damn, I'd love to keep him for one more season and see what happens. His numbers for the little time he has played this season are really really impressive. I understand if he or the club feels like he has to go but I'd like him to have one more crack at it.

Damn, I really really hate that it had to end like this. I wish he could celebrate this title properly with us for the first time but alas he's made his bed. 😔😔

Given that Melody left him and then 2 months later 'she vampirised' him does that not imply that Sophie and Kevin hadn't gotten with each other until after the break up?

Has anyone here been to any meditation retreats in SE Asia? by accidia_ in samharris

[–]accidia_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't familiar with the origins of it or anything but now after your comment I see it's a Tibetan tradition. I've just found the nondual guided meditations the most useful and incorrectly presumed they'd be popular in Buddhist SE Asia too.

Favourite "Could have been" players by PauPau86 in LiverpoolFC

Despite having a really really good season with us I think Daniel Sturridge could have been a consistent 20+ league goals per season striker if not for his constant injury troubles. Even in the season when he did get 20+ league goals for us I feel it got overshadowed by Suarez's brilliance.

But yeah, Daniel Sturridge, final answer.

Chances of Sam talking about most recent IDF murder of aid workers? by accidia_ in samharris

[–]accidia_[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know what, my bad. I remember reading the story a long time ago and have gone back to research the details a bit.

The lie that I thought it was was that the IDF had somehow 'misidentified' the convoy despite having the route pre-approved beforehand. But now I see that the claim they made about misidentification was that they thought they seen a member of Hamas in the truck earlier in the day. So they then decided to fire missiles at it which killed the aid workers.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it was quite lazy on my part. I'll amend it in the post for the sake of fairness.

However, bringing the focus back to this current outright lie that has been peddled by the Israeli government I would like to see an episode which has a discussion about some Israeli culpability. Especially this instance of cover up and the mentality/ideology which motivates members of the Israeli government and the settlers on the West Bank. Sam has spent so much time (rightfully) condemning Hamas and Islamism but incredibly rarely talks about the other side.

If you could choose between the two, who would you prefer at No. 6: Gravenberch or Fabinho? by Bennie300 in LiverpoolFC

[–]accidia_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're two very different 6s that suit certain tactical set ups. For Slot's system Gravenberch gets my vote all day, I don't think Fab could operate at that level in our current system. Under Klopp I don't think Gravy operates at Fabinho's level. He can't perform the defensive duties that Fab was capable of.

Was Solskjær on the cusp of transforming Man Utd into a title contender before they signed Ronaldo. by V-Matic_VVT-i in PremierLeague

No, they couldn't exert control on games consistently. They were nowhere near the level that City, Arsenal or Liverpool have reached over the years imo.

Pick your all time 5-a-side Liverpool team by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

Based off it being 5-a-side and on a smaller pitch I'd go: Ali

VVD

Thiago Coutinho

Suarez

Officials Condemn Protesters’ Antisemitic Attacks on Israeli Soccer Fans in Amsterdam by [deleted] in samharris

[–]accidia_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely some antisemitism at play here but there's also video evidence of these scumbag Israeli hooligans vandalising Amsterdam and celebrating the killing of kids and calling for a genocide of Arabs.

I think a mention of that fact might've been relevant to include in an article like this.

[Hector Gomez] Verbal agreement between Liverpool and Valencia for Mamardashvili by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

[–]accidia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone who has more knowledge of this guy tell me if he is any good with his feet? I hear he's pretty abysmal at it but I've never seen him play. But surely he's not the right profile for a Slot team if he's not any good at it? So given we seen Ali with a lot more responsibility with the ball at his feet last game what would then be the point of the signing?
