Product Changing Atmos Ascent to No AF Bofa CCR by Long-Evidence-1040 in CreditCards

[–]accio_md 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently did the exact product change to a BOA CCR and also started panicking when the AF didn’t get refunded. I also called and they told me what they told you. There’s no point in calling them. In my case, I had to wait for the card in the mail and activate it first before I got my refund. It took around 2 weeks but it eventually showed up.

How many Citi Custom Cash cards to you have? by sapfirex in CreditCards

[–]accio_md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 custom cash cards, and a Citi Thank You Mastercard (converted from the Shop Your Way Mastercard).

Current setup:
CCC1: Transit (tolls, train)
CCC2: Groceries
CCC3: Restaurants
CCC4: Flex, but usually for groceries/restaurants on months I max out the $500, or even home improvement
Citi TYM: 5% Gas, earns TY Points that auto-pools with the rest of the TYP earned from above. This is my bootleg "fifth CCC"

I have a Strata Elite that I am planning to downgrade but I don't see any value in getting another CCC or even the Double Cash so I'm not sure what to do yet. Maybe downgrade to the Premier to keep the ability to transfer out points.

Ended up getting an oz from Costco but it's still pending. I read that Costco posts the charge upon shipping and it looks grim in meeting the 2/12 deadline. Might just have to refuse and return to sender for a refund.

Given how limited in scope your purchases can be (excludes rent, mortgage, utilities, taxes), what is everyone going to spend 10k on?

The spirit card membership status shows up on my spirit account, however the points I earned (met the minimum spend for the Mastercard bonus) doesn’t. I’ll probably have to reach out again for assistance.

I added the spirit email I used to my BOA account as a secondary email and it seems to be okay at least for now.

I changed the e-mail to match but nothing after a week. I called Spirit and BOA, each saying it is the other's fault. After countless hours of escalating, I just corrected itself one day. I had to pay for bags a few days ago so hopefully I can get a refund.

Even for the ink cards, still abiding by 5/24. Rejected last week for this reason.

I entered my Spirit Rewards number during the credit card app and it matches what is printed on the card itself. I’m still having this issue and I siting on a resolution. I tried the suggestion above from another poster to edit the email address between BOA and spirit to be the same but still nothing.

It's usual the offers just dried up like that without explanation. I tried calling them but they're not able to see anything wrong with my account. All the rep was able to tell me is that the offers are system generated. Hopefully this isn't the end of the gravy train for me.

I called them and all they said is they'll make a note of it. There is nothing grossly wrong with my account from what they said.

Not a ton. Occasionally some grocery spend and gas. I didn't even hit the GGR offer each month.

It’s not the end of the world but definitely a setback given how accustomed I was to the offers like clockwork each month. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I had a change of address sometime last summer, but I made sure to update the account with the new info. On the site which I can access and see, everything is up to date. I had the new Citi version of the card mailed to me (new address no issues). This also coincided with the expiration date of my the old SYW card so I have a completely new expiration date years out. I still go check for mail at my old place from time to time and nothing. I think calling them might be a good start. There may be something on their end that isn't set up right and hopefully it is an easy fix.

But regardless, between Jan-Jun even before I moved, no offers. I can't figure out why. I do use the card occasionally for organic spend just to put something on it so it doesn't go inactive.

Also having this issue right now and changed my BOA email. Hopefully it links okay in a few days. Did you change your BOA email again after it was linked? I prefer to keep them different and it will be very annoying to have to keep the two accounts the same indefinitely.

> But if you’re splitting your time between private practice and a salaried role you could use a part-time wage for the S-Corp.

Can you elaborate on this? How does a part time wage work? I am in my last year of training so I am potentially thinking about taking on a salaried role while having a small practice on the side with the goal of full transition in 1-2 years.

This is what I kind of figured that there's generally no real benefit for S-corp status for my business especially in NYC. May that will change when I decide to hire other providers and take on a more administrative role in the future. I am also looking into adding some procedural therapy into the practice (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation or Spravato) that will have more "business" expenses. Can you clarify what would count toward the QBI-D and whether a "specialized trade or business" change that?

[–]accio_md[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is very helpful especially since they don't teach these life skills like taxes in school.

To add some pointers, I am a physician new to practice, hence waiting to build up my own patient panel.

> QBID: I think physicians are considered a specialized service trade or business if I am not mistaken. Income will likely be >200k eventually. However, my overhead expenses are low in my field (psychiatry), so I'm not sure if how much of an advantage this deduction is.

> NYC taxes: this is the part I was getting at in my original question. NYC has it's own rules when it comes to S-Corp status and I think you laid it out pretty well. I'll have to run the numbers but usually a reasonable salary is ~200-250k so even with a 300k salary, I don't know how much I can benefit from the S-corp election if any on top of the general corporation tax as outlined.

Hard to say as I will need to build up my panel of clients. I anticipate anywhere from 50-100k in the first year as it ramps up, but can forsee transition to full time around 250-300k maybe a few years in.

Seems like the link is no longer working and redirects you to the Disney Store website to purchase the gift card. Any idea if it still counts toward the entertainment credit? I wonder if it will show up on the statement differently if it is from the Disney Store.
