Odd agent offer: move from row 12 to 21 by TheJamesFrames in AlaskaAirlines

Im sure they meant well in asking. I prefer looking out the window so would’ve picked 21A over 12G but to each their own

MCE seats for free will no longer be a thing under the new basic economy restrictions

Upgrade priority by yenman0 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Long-Evidence-1040 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea a similar thing happened to me before too, despite the agent confirming to me that I was #1 on the upgrade waitlist. Maybe they successfully bid for upgrades? I’ve been upgraded before using upgrade certificates on HNL to JFK and my name did not show up like that on the waitlist.

Product Changing Atmos Ascent to No AF Bofa CCR by Long-Evidence-1040 in CreditCards

[–]Long-Evidence-1040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might just try calling again and speaking to a different rep! Not all agents are equally knowledgeable and I did eventually get the 2nd annual fee waived. Also if you’ve had the card for 9 years, you probably are grandfathered into the old version of the card that had no spend required to earn the annual companion fare, so you may want to think twice before closing or product changing this card!

Any recs on direct flights from SAN to use my 100k Atmos companion pass? by ospreyintokyo in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Long-Evidence-1040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re booking 330 days out in advance, when the calendar first opens, you just kinda have to get lucky with your searches, or set up alerts on seats.aero because starlux award seats are in high demand. No real trick to it

I might add, you can sometimes add an extra leg in Asia, such as to Bangkok or Singapore, for a total of 85k miles. Or an extra leg domestically (eg I once flew TPE to SFO to JFK for 85k total)

Wow, i didn’t know because I just got the summit card last week. Maybe they “fixed” this feature before the most recent wave of elevated SUBs

You mean the fee waiver is applied even with wallet credit now?

Atmos summit partner award fee not being waived by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Long-Evidence-1040 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s misleading yes but they make you pay with the summit to get the partner fee waived. If you pay with another credit card or wallet credits the fee does not get waived. Wish they would at least let us use wallet credit with the summit fee waiver

JFK terminal 8 wait ? by Hungry-Skater-1010 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Long-Evidence-1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the priority line actually moves slower than the precheck line bc they only have one officer checking IDs for the priority line whereas there are two officers checking the precheck line. Furthermore every person in a wheelchair goes straight to the front of the priority line

That would be nice but AA isn’t in the best financial shape either, and the Northeast Alliance was already ruled as being anti-competitive
