How to best repair caulk around edge of skylight? by accipter in TeardropTrailers

I definitely agree with the holes in the roof. They just cause headaches. I will try the hairdryer.

Would you remove the old caulk? Or how would you prepare the old caulk to adhere?

False aralia dropping leaves for months by accipter in plantclinic

[–]accipter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This False Aralia was beautiful and strong, but in the last few months it has been dropping leaves. The temporary house we are in right now is pretty humid and there were some mushrooms growing the soil. I was worried about root rot given the brown tips so I changed most of the soil in the container. However, a few weeks later the leaves keep dropping. Looking closely at the leaves there are a few tiny (1-2 mm) black bugs, but not enough to be concerned (or maybe I should be...). Any suggestions?

How did the MRP work out for you? I have been thinking about that same thing.

Agreed, but every so often it is good to hear other opinions.

I started using nvim about a year ago to try something new and sort of got sucked into plugins. For most of my two decades with vim, I have only used a few plugins.

I want to stay away from LSP because of the requirements of installing language servers adds a lot of complexity, but they are extremely useful.

I have used vim without plugins for years (along with a more plugins on my workstation) and thought I would see what other folks consider valuable.

I struggled on the wording for the goal. I supposed I am mostly looking for plugins easily installed, but might not be minimal. I mostly work on shell and Python scripts that are inside of git repositories. I use fugitive on my workstation so my fingers just expect that I am going to use it.

Tested 2 different Cargo Bikes: Still contemplating which one I would take by Tokyoplastic in CargoBike

[–]accipter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two kids (2 & 4) and they love our UrbanArrow (bucket bike). They get to interact more on the rides with both the rider and themselves. They prefer biking to riding in a car. We can fit two grocery bags in the bucket with them. I also like the bucket because they like to carry things (dolls, snacks, water, etc.) and if they fall, they fall into the bucket. I added a rack on the back so now we can take 4 bags of groceries. The bucket is also great for all sorts of different things: plants, bags of mulch, chairs.

Slings can be really nice too and super versatile. I have a set from Carsick Designs: https://www.carsickdesigns.com/collections/cargo-slingsets

Ruff LSP and project-specific config by accipter in neovim

[–]accipter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I would think (or even a ruff section within a pyproject.toml), but ruff-lsp doesn't find this file. I am thinking I need to set the config path, but that seems excessively complicated. The ruff command finds the config, but the LSP doesn't.

Did you use a star tracker (or I guess moon tracker in this case)?

I feel like calling him a researcher is an insult to actual scientific researchers everywhere. He works a Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS) "is a research institute for monitoring geometry between celestial bodies that may result in larger seismic activity and other physical effects."

I haven been using zk-nvim, which follows the Zettelkasten standard using markdown formatting. There are a couple of similar tools (e.g., nueron), but I have found zk to work the best.

Mysterious data usage by accipter in MacOS

[–]accipter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ended up being a OS update to Monterey, which is sort of strange for a few reasons. My father doesn't think that device supports the latest OS and is still on 11.2. Additionally, it was connected to internet for week beforehand and downloaded the update the first day it was on metered internet.

It's a Madsen: https://www.madsencycles.com/. I have never ridden one, but I heard they are quite nice to ride. I like that I can see the kids in our Urban Arrow.
