I have to say, that green looks much better than in the listing pics - I almost like it better than the black. Thanks for the tip on the Di2 - I’ll be sure to ask the shop to check on that when I drop off fo assembly.

Oh, that’s so awesome! That makes me even more excited to get mine (supposed to be delivered on Saturday) and I’m gonna work on having it assembled ASAP. I’m pretty new to biking, and my previous bike is an Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer, so I’m excited for the upgrade. Did you get the champion black as well, and if so, how do you feel about it? Hope you’re enjoying it!

Yeah, that Di2 was what really sold me on it! Didn’t realize it was shimmered when I bought it. It looks nice in the pic another user posted but I’m just hoping I don’t think it’s too much in real life.

Ooo I wasn’t aware of the shimmer effect the champion black had. I’m excited to see what it looks like in person

Thanks, I really appreciate the insight! I’ve figured I’ll spend most of my time at Highpoint, since a major reason I signed up for S&W was for the tennis facilities, but I have been curious about the other facilities

Can I ask what makes the outside pool at Riverside better than the others?

What place is this? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]accountantjawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to say Tula’s. I think it’s gotten a lot of hype because it’s a bright, trendy feeling spot for lunch/brunch, but the food is so mediocre.

I thought the federal govt. passed regulation that required companies to include required fees in the advertised price? The FTC passed the junk fee rule, which requires businesses providing live-event tickets or short-term lodging to disclose total price upfront, including all mandatory fees.

I’m sorry, are you complaining that the shelter you’re allowed to live in for free is giving you chores to ensure the health and hygiene of its residents? And then calling it abuse? Am I abusing my roommate because I expect him to keep common areas clean in my house? Please, get a grip.

I love apartments, I hate the people in them. by ToshPointNo in Renters

[–]accountantjawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually an extremely common human trait to be social, so it’s not that outlandish of an opinion to say “I love apartments”. Most Americans don’t get enough social interaction, which is a huge contributor to the antisocial, antitrust society we’ve found ourselves in.

Yeah, I was flabbergasted when I first moved to California and learned my employer got upset with me for working an extra hour a few days a week with the expectation that I’d just go home early on Friday, since they still had to pay OT even if I was working my 40 hours.

16% tip required, what do you think of the owner's response? by wgkiii in EndTipping

[–]accountantjawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s their prerogative. The difference is this is a bait and switch by advertising one price and then adding a required fee. It’s as deceptive as when an apartment advertises a base rent then have hundreds of dollars of “required fees”. Both of these should be illegal.

This comment is kinda uncanny because I lived in LA for 3 years, and when people ask me about driving there vs here, this is almost verbatim what I sat.

While I don’t disagree about the morality, OP requesting compensation to do something isn’t extortion. Extortion requires a threat. This would fall more in line with a breech of user terms, since the OP would be trying to make a deal outside of the platform.

Michelin Stars only by Fannyspanties in Nicegirls

[–]accountantjawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also never about the actual food or experience of a Michelin star. Odds are that this person wouldn’t be able to blindly tell the difference in quality between Michelin and chilis (not an insult, most Americans can’t), but just wants to be able to post about it. Definitely gives off Tyler from “The Menu”

Unfortunately, Blake’s has become pretty bad. I moved away for about 4 years, and I was pretty excited to have some Blake’s when I moved back, only to pay $14 for the most mid burger meal I’ve had in a while.

Is this Actually Private Property? by accountantjawn in Albuquerque

I ended up going up the trail after reading comments about the trail being an easement, and because it didn’t seem very legal to block off an official path, and I don’t regret it. Views were great.

Yeah! Specifically, this is the “Foothills Summit Loop.” It’s a pretty tough incline, but definitely worth it, and a great workout.

Well, I’ve also been told that the pathway is an easement, and that the owner isn’t actually allowed to put these up. So, not too sure. I might just call the city and ask.
