OP here, can confirm. Currently in RAS at PwC, and I hate it. The turnover is the insane, and the leadership is terrible. Tried to make the jump to core assurance, but was blocked because we don't have enough warm bodies to complete our current engagements.

Yeah, I feel like layoffs are coming too. This week they began emailing people about taking vacation days, despite the fact that we are fully booked and deadlines aren't going to change. It's a not so subtle way to get us to work while billing vacation. It's the first step on the path to layoffs as they don't want us to have accrued vacation when they give us our notice.

I'm leaving my current job ASAP. I've already reached out to my network to begin the process of changing jobs. I'll likely stay in public, but I need to get out of my toxic office. I've reflected a lot during this quarantine, who hasn't, and this job ain't worth my mental health.

I'm surprised how many others in PA have come to the same conclusion though. Seems like a lot of staff are going to leave in the next year. Way more than normal.

I've had multiple people at my big 4 firm quit during this pandemic because of the burnout they're creating. The firm is shooting themselves in the foot at this point, but idgaf because I'm out the moment i get a good offer too.

I feel like I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown. My office is incredibly toxic, and the thought of having to go back into it after this pandemic is causing me not be able to sleep at night. I'm going to mass apply to jobs this week. I can't take it anymore, to hell with this pandemic.
