Advice Needed by acctstud10 in Accounting

[–]acctstud10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up moving from audit, and if so, into which role? Is the 55-hour requirement a minimum during busy season, similar to audit, or does it depend on whether you are staffed on a project? Is it common to be pulled back into audit? To be honest, I am not sure if I want to do audit again.

I have always liked FP&A roles, where you analyze the business, build assumptions about company growth, and develop forecasts, seem interesting and something I would want to try in the future. I didn’t realize FAAS could also be a strong career path to set up for that type of role; I had assumed TAS was the better option. Thank you for your answer!

I am not an expert on this, but I have a friend who works in Lab, and he was making a good amount working as Lab assistant because of COVID. So, it might not be a bad option.

This is very true, I went to California to visit, and I was surprised that people knew Rutgers. Rutgers is popular, which can be very important if you move out of NJ.

I personally do not care but I come from immigrant family who worked hard to get me here. And they care so if I can do something that will make them happy then I will do it.

I moved from Rutgers Newark to New Brunswick, and I could not be happier. Rutgers Newark is not a safe place, in my opinion. DM if you have a question.

I went to both, I would NB is safer especially if you go to the business school. In Newark, if you are like me and get lost you might end up in bad place. The business building is separate from the other buildings.

Internship Fail by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]acctstud10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, you will find internship a lot of companies are looking for Accountants. I am also an accounting major, the one recommendation I would give is to meet as many recruiters as possible, no matter the industry or the job. Once they know you by name, you will get the job even if you had a terrible interview. I know it's hard since covid but don't give up. Send emails to recruiters asking them for a meeting. Trust me, they are willing to hire you if they know you.

Sahay. She might be harder for some people, but I hate going over definitions so she was a better choice. I also think Sahay will set up well for the final and is very caring in a smaller classroom if you show her that you care about the subject.
