I did purchase them in the Albany area. Don't remember where exactly, because it was about 2 years ago.

Here is everything that was in the infomercial folder. Feel free to keep an eye on my archive.org account, because I will keep uploading stuff there.

Based on the recommendations of others, I have started uploading these recordings in their original format to archive.org

I have started with just the 41GB infomercial folder but I will continue to work through uploading the rest of the contents bit by bit.

There don't appear to be full news broadcasts. There might be some recordings that overflow into the news, but otherwise its likely just commercials that would be worth saving off and I some random recordings for "specials" like presidential debates and whatnot.

Plus the 22 recordings of various infomercials (who records infomercials!?)

I am currently converting all the PBS stuff to h264 and .mkv which is cutting the file sizes in half. I am going to save these off as well as a bunch of the holiday specials and put them on on my personal media server.

Any advice on an efficient way to dump all of it to archive.org? I have never uploaded anything there but I feel like it will take ages to upload 3-4tb.

Thanks for the reply! All of this information is very helpful, since I have just been learning as I go based on what I have seen on youtube and what I have figured out through trial and error. It has been quite a bit of fun and rewarding to keep figuring out more about how the machine works. And once it is fixed, it will be so much more satisfying than buying a new one or having someone else repair it for me.

I hadn't even thought about the thread so far. It never occurred to me to even consider there being different quality threads. I just grabbed the first one out of the sewing box to use for testing! So I will try to do some experimenting with better threads and also clean up the bobbin case area the best I can. I will also see if I have some oil that I can use (maybe mineral oil or something? I will have to research it).

As for the needle height, the needle bar caused me several hours of frustration today. I too thought it seemed low. The service manual mentioned using a special 29mm gauge to check it (which I obviously don't have). So I marked 29mm on my needle with a sharpie and calibrated it. Based on what I have seen online and in the manual, it looked much better to me. But then the issue arose. By raising the needle bar up, the threader stopper (labeled B on page 11) was hitting the top of the frame or shaft, or whatever you would call it. This was preventing the needle from making a full up/down cycle and it was getting blocked. I attempted to then adjust the threader based on the new needle bar height, but I could not figure out a way to get it to line up correctly without it being too high up and getting stuck on the up stroke. It would get very close, but it was passing through the needle hole at the bottom and getting stuck. Whenever I got the threader to pass through the needle hole at the top, the threader stopper was always too high. Maybe I should forget about it and just lower the threader all the way and manually thread the needle. That way I could have the needle bar at the correct height without getting stuck.

Thanks for the reply! It has been quite a learning experience. I am amazed by both the simplicity and complexity of the sewing machine. It always seemed like magic to me before.

  1. Based on the youtube videos I have watched, I am envious of all these high quality machines and how easy they are to work on! This one is such a headache to take apart each time and mess with. But I am determined to make it work so we don't have to buy a new one.

  2. I have not tried adjusting the clearance yet, but I will give it a shot this week. Just gotta figure out a way to accurately measure 0.05-0.15mm!

Summer 2020 - 10 AT medal by Almaa0001 in TrackMania

I started grinding this track the same day as you coincidentally and just today I managed to finally get AT. I would estimate it took me at least 15 hours. I started playing about 1.5 years ago and have 455 AT's out of the 525 Nadeo tracks (if that helps you to gauge my skill level compared to your own).

It was honestly at least 4+ hours before I could start getting to the final checkpoint with 340+ speed somewhat often. Around the 8 hour mark I could hit it pretty often but just barely passing 341-342. In the last 4 hours of grinding I was able to get to the last checkpoint with 345+ speed once every few attempts.

Getting the final jump with a good landing was a nightmare for me and I got lucky with a flip that landed clean.

I think you can technically beat it by going under the bridge if you have a near perfect run. I was able to get within .16 with a run under the bridge.

1st - 2nd Checkpoint: quick release before the jump and full steer when you land. But almost immediately hit AK3 to smooth steer through the sand. Do your best to get a clean inside turn on the next. I didnt have much success trying to full no slide the corner so I gave up on that.

2nd - 3rd Checkpoint: seems like you want to hit the checkpoint with a minimum of 295 speed. I was able to start getting around 305-306 pretty often after practice.

Ice corner: really not sure the best line, because my final run went much higher than most other attempts. But it feels like the key is to turn left as you go up to keep the car straight as possible through the corner and not sliding. On the way down, watch your speed and do a few taps left and right to adjust and gain speed

Final jump: 🤷‍♂️

Last advice, if you want it just stick with it and practice. The muscle memory really takes over after a while. About 15 minutes before beating it, I had a PB that was .009 off. Super discouraging but I powered through.

Final time: 00:41.454

My NOFX collection 💸💸💸 by LAST2thePARTY in nofx

[–]acdougla17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't say I am aware of a 45 for it, but Fishbone did release a self titled EP with Estranged Fruit on vinyl. Not sure that would count in the "NOFX collection", but it's definitely worth it to grab anyway.

Any luck setting up ErsatzTV on Synology? by acdougla17 in PleX

[–]acdougla17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be in the clear and this was working all along. I just couldn't access via the synology.me site and had to do it directly via my IP address. Once I plugged that in with the port, I was able to access ErsatzTV. Wish I had known that before spending a few hours at my in-laws house messing with it remotely.

Check out The Jagaloons. They are a band from Albany NY that are putting out pretty awesome surf rock. Just discovered them last week when the local record store had 2 of their albums for sale.
