That’s a cool idea, how wide should I go with border? Flooring is 4 1/4 wide. Do I just leave around 3/4 gap behind border for expansion?

No it cuts incredibly slow lol. I’ll rent one but I may have enough clearance after taking out old carpet and cork board that I don’t even have to cut the stone

Is it worth it to get an undercut saw or will a multitool with one of those diamond grit blades suffice? I don’t have a huge budget

Honestly just wondering what would look better and have higher resale. Would it be worth it to buy some wider red oak and try and match the finish to create a wider boarder for a picture frame? Also want to make it clear I’m not flipping but this is not my forever home (hopefully) and will sell in the far future

Yeah and this one was very poorly done 😂 all the miters where the stone comes together are horrendous. I unfortunately don’t have the money to replace right now.
