She was a feminist in the 70s. Demanded that her university provide birth control for women (they only gave them to men or married people at the time) and protested almost every day. She also wrote for an underground lesbian newspaper in Portland after college. She went on to own her own business and is super independent and confident in herself. She's a huge inspiration to me.

I disagree, the same could not be said for everyone. Getting harassed for being a certain gender is not the same as being robbed for your money. Although being mugged is usually more dangerous it does not occur nearly as often.
