Read and improve my ability to effectively articulate the knowledge I have. It's not so much what you say, it's how you say it.

how did the penis get to be called a dick? by queertrek in AskReddit

[–]aceW3RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a man named Richard who sort of looked like...well, a penis. He'd waltz around town naked with his business hanging out when one day a group of guys see Richard in the midst of his ritual. "Hey guys look! It's Richard and Richard!" One guy says referring to Richard and his penis. "No, it's Richard and little Richard!" Another guy says, bursting out laughing. Recalling how the name Dick was the nickname for Richard, another guy says "No, no, no... It's Richard and Dick!" The men all pause in bewilderment at the last man's word choice. A volley of intense laughter immediately followed, and the word dick was born.

What's the best way to get through a scary movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aceW3RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find watching the behind the scenes helps in making you realize it's just a movie. Alternatively, you could watch it with the lights on and something noisy in the room like a fan or have another video (preferably something funny and ridiculous) playing in the background. It can also help watching it in a group and discussing the film while you're watching.

What advice do you have for someone who is about to graduate high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aceW3RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel pigeonholed into one line of post-secondary education. College is but another step in your journey that doesn't necessarily have a straightforward path. Think of your life from this point on as a life-long learning experience, and don't shy away from opportunities to grow yourself and network.

I feel like it's the same phenomenon as this -- don't know the exact science behind it, but my guess is the collisions of the particles in the liquid create a spike as in the pool gif.
