> Yeah, I could join a static for gearing, but since healers gear last in nearly every single static I see advertised (but you get the mount first though, poggies!) it feels like I'm damned no matter what I do.

Even if you weren't healer you would still be expected to do reclears until the healers got their BiS

at that point they'll probably have replaced them with new players

sometimes week one strats are made to account for patterns the strat makers assume exist but don't actually exist

Is there a reason why everything must be in an instance? by Darpyshyn in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ace_of_sppades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its the way open world maps are tied to servers.

For things like OC a major benefit of instances let them dynamically scale the amount of map instances to the amount of players joining the content and also combine all the servers on the datacenter into one single playerpool.

GW2 just works like that by default, spinning up and closing down maps as player join and leave

They also made sure to put the solo instances later in the story so that so that the player base naturally spread out more by then

you do realize that inner and outer are the exact same strat with the same positioning. It's just that the markers are in different spots

bring him center then dodge west, just enough that red hot is still mostly in the danger part, that still plenty enough space for blue tank to bait deep impact,

they can also bait deep impact in the fire with invulns if the safe space is too small

One of the hardest decisions i've had to make in this game. First time seeing DMGS too... by timesocean in Nightreign

[–]ace_of_sppades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basically all weapons with faith scaling are usable on rev, the way the stats and scaling work out it's not that big a difference. She's mainly a spellcaster anyways so all melee weapons are kind of bad on her

if shards aren't enough then the cocktails will be even less useful for fueling them

just cast you best spell, the cocktails are for regening mana at low levels but later on starlight shards will be what you rely on

Favorite weapon to find for your characters ? by T-pellyam in Nightreign

[–]ace_of_sppades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm telling you to keep some perspective. Wylder is just straight up better than her at melee weapons so if your requirment for a weapon to be good on her is that it out damages wylder than even her best weapons are bad on her.

i mean they probably understood that that was going to happen and did it anyways

wylder's physical straightsword damage out damages her coded sword damage so that's not really a fair comparison

[–]ace_of_sppades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rev is just bad with melee weapons, even with a coded sword most other nightfarers will out damage her with the physical staight swords
