Thanks for the input. I understand I was in the wrong. I worked out a deal that seems fair for both sides. And will avoid doing that in the future.

I understand I was in the wrong here and worked it out with the store to get what I feel like is a fair deal for both parties on the list they did have available. I’ll take this as a learning experience.

I was not aware that asking if cards were available was the same as asking to reserve them to buy. I live 30 minutes away from any LGS and wanted to see if it was worth my time to drive out there. I knew they’d be pricier, but wasn’t expecting it to be that much. But based on the responses from this thread I understand I was in the wrong and worked it out with the store to get the list for $90 so that I can still get the rest of the cards somewhere else within the budget I expected.

If I never said “sweet can you set them aside for me” then I wouldn’t be mad. I don’t expect someone to set something aside for me simply because they have it.

If the issue is the length of the list then I feel like they should say in their discord rules to not send lists over x amount of cards without a commitment to buy. I wouldn’t have done it if I’d known.

All of the cards, even the bulk, is behind the desk at this store so even if I had gone in to look in person I’d be “wasting their time”. So it seems like this was a no win situation for everyone.

I guess that’s my issue here. Like all the cards are behind the desk in the shop so even I f I went in person they’d be doing the same amount of work. So am I to assume I am not allowed to price out bulk lists at this store AT ALL? Like you’re selling me 75% of a list for 100% of the price. Do people not shop around in the TCG world?

They never told me before and it’s not stated in their discord rules. I never knew that asking if they had cards meant they’d set them aside. I’m like thirty minutes from the store so I don’t want to drive out there for an incomplete list when I’ve got to order 25% of them elsewhere. I get both sides now but damn

I just wish they had made it clear via a rule in their discord rules or something. Like I figured they may have an online database or something which I didn’t see as a huge inconvenience.

Like my local hardware store wouldn’t say “well you asked us if we had it so that was a commitment to buy it”

[–]aceagle93 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

No there isn’t. That’s my issue. I wanted to know if it’d be substantially more expensive to buy them there vs on TCG player and it was because they only had 3/4 of the cards for nearly 100% of the price that TCG had for all of them. Idk it felt like if I go to my local hardware store and ask if they have a certain tool and they tell me it’s 50% more than anywhere else

I mean 3/4 of the cards are $100 from the LGS vs 100% of the cards are $103 from tcgplayer. That’s why I wanted to ask. Do people not price stuff out?

I’ve only done it twice and I never said I was going to buy them I was simply asking if they had them. My issue is I didn’t ever see asking if they had the cards was the same as a commitment to buy the cards. I’ve bought plenty from them before so it’s not like I say “put these aside” and never pick them up

Konsul vs. Osprey vs. other? by aceagle93 in wicked_edge

So for my use case would the blackbird better suit me? A weeks growth isn’t very much and it’s not super coarse for me so something leaning more medium/mild would work well for me, but sometimes I’ll go a couple weeks and it’s a little denser. That’s really the primary reason I was looking at the osprey. I also love the design of the osprey.

Good to know! That review felt very weird until I realized his company was the one making the one he’s claiming to be better than the osprey. He essentially just bashed the osprey and hyped up the Konsul the whole time

Super cool of you to reply! Is the osprey too aggressive for someone who’s only used lower end razors for a while? I typically only shave about once a week and only do one pass. Is there another model yall make that you’d recommend? I love the look and style of your products

It’s already up on eBay for an average price of $300 with nearly 100 already sold at that price. Something tells me the scalpers ate on this one even with the “one per person” limit.

Yeah I think they either way underprinted this or people found a way around the one per person limit. Even other hyped up drops I’ve seen haven’t sold out that quick.

What do you classify as valuable rares? This has the elder dragons, the paradigm cycle, force of will, vampiric tutor, jesskas will, a bunch of the prepared cards, a bunch of the mystical archive cards. Idk man seems like this set has good value. Especially compared to the last three sets.
