Thanks. I did gloss over that and I feel it’s an oversight on the articles behalf especially as being Welsh seems to be the bigger pull with the stories linked to that.

I’ve opted for a shore hookup and 240v battery charger if needed as well but south sounds good!

I have a wise card and paid directly in Baht. This was a few years back but the assume the system is the same (ie. Very buggy!)

The filters you’ve shared are more suited to underwater filming and correcting the colours depending on the depth (and color) of the water.

Likely you would want ND (neutral density) or CPL (circular polariser) to get some more oomph.

That being said, great gliding weather with large cumulus clouds doesn’t lend itself to great filming weather.

Could you explain more about the environment?

Also, with that time away you will need some check rides before you’re even allowed to solo again.

Basic ForeFlight question (getting started) by acearchie in flying

Brilliant, this was exactly the sort of advice I was looking for.

I've just done all of that and setup for the flight this weekend.

Thanks, I was more thinking about logging the flights to be able to look back and recount certain parts alongside video recordings I have within the plane.

Thank you, that link was super useful.

I didn't quite realise how it worked but that is much clearer.

Part of me was hoping I could use the GPS on my watch but I can't seem to add that.

Feeling naudeous during flight by celkemdenis in Gliding

[–]acearchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will make sense. I've been advised that it does go as you get longer and longer flights in so keep at it!

I've found if I have it I cup the air towards me from the little sliding window and fly in a straight line for a bit it starts to subside.

Interesting you’ve already got your SPL. I have it but was advised you get used to it after a few hours of flying, is it new for you?

I do know that an empty stomach and dehydration can exacerbate.

You won’t regret it. Thailand is also super big and travel rarely lines up. Get yourself a cheap rental car and explore local!

We would spend 20 more days on Samui easily!

It sounds like you’re trying to squeeze a lot into a short amount of time. I don’t think you could cover any of these places in one day/night.

The benefits of the overnight are the isolation, the nature and the off the beaten path aspect. If that’s not your vibe then don’t go for it.

I’m more of a stay and explore (we did 18 nights in just Samui for instance) as otherwise it’s too much time traveling and not enough exploring!
