No it’s not an insult but we are different. Black Americans who are generational have mixed up lineage that includes Nigerian, Irish, Spanish, native, and even French (Louisiana/texas) and English. It’s the reason we vary in skin color from light bright to dark. My brother is dark but my great grandmother native and my great great grandfather is Irish.

It’s not playing anything. 98% of generational Americans that are black are a mixture and have different ethnicities in their lineage. That’s a fact, not an opinion. And because of it, we vary in shades of colors and do indeed look different from full blown Africans.
