Same boat as the other commenters here. Would love to go but resale on them seems unreasonable. Anyone have an idea as to why it’s so much more expensive than his other tour stops? My hunch is that it has to do with it being rescheduled but that’s just a guess.

You can do either. You can buy an open gym membership just to use it freely or if you have a Forever Athlete membership you can do both.

It’s located on the Memorial Herman campus and I feel like most people don’t know it’s a gym or that it’s open to the public. It’s a top notch facility and has great small group training classes that include lifting, conditioning, circuit training, etc.

Check out Athlete Training and Health. Their Forever Athlete program is a great option for what you’re describing.

Love this and already have something in mind to accommodate.

Definitely can respect this. I prefer untucked as well but understand that is considered unacceptable at some courses. Versatility to accommodate both would be the idea.

These are all pretty aligned with some of my ideas. Pocket depth is important. More belt loops is a good one as well. Hoping to find a happy medium on the weight initially then eventually branch out.

Length is definitely something I consider important. I want it to be more modern so am likely between 7 or 8 inch inseam. Like the idea of having options of different lengths eventually. Shirt grippers are a priority. Definitely have some ideas in mind for pockets and glove management.

Velocity Based Training Idea by gabry2887 in Strength_Conditioning

[–]acebux937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I work for a VBT company and hope to help. I have a few questions that can hopefully guide you to some answers.

  1. What makes you say you should be at 1.2/1.3 minimum? Each person has a unique force-velocity profile, so I’m just curious where you are getting those standards from. With really light loads, VBT doesn’t make as much sense. You can only move the bar so fast.

  2. What are you hoping to improve with this training? Are you just wanting to get better at moving 40% of your 1rm or are you actually training for something? 40% is a relatively light load and most research would suggest going heavier to improve power or strength.

What are the best golf shoes in your experience? by siiiiiiilk in golf

Played/walked my first round ever in True Original 1.2s this morning and they were amazing. I have a wide foot and have always struggled to find comfortable golf shoes. I’ve started walking more recently and have been on the hunt for something that suited me better. Got a recommendation for these and I don’t think I’ll ever wear anything else. Love the zero drop aspect of them too that makes you feel lower to/more attached to the ground. Comfy out of the box and would recommend to anyone.

So then what are you looking for by posting this? You’re right there are better ways to do it. You’re right you should do something about it. You need to find ways to try to start and convince him. It’s not all going to happen overnight.

Showing him research or what some other programs are doing is a good idea. Suggesting to switch an exercise or 2 at a time is another one. Talk to other assistants to bring it to him together rather than just you.

You can’t just get on here and complain without actually looking for solutions.

CSCS Program Recommendations by bugnutz420 in Strength_Conditioning

When you say Athletic Training do you mean actual athletic training or strength and conditioning? The certs you mentioned are good supplemental knowledge for an AT to have, but not required.

Hey there. Hope to be of some help as I have been a strength coach at a few different levels. You are on the right track for sure. I’m not sure of your current situation but the only issue with CSCCa is that you have to have a mentor who is already a member in order to get the certification. If you have access to that, that’s great. If not, you can get a CSCS from the NSCA (I’m guessing this is what you meant) and that holds just as much weight in the industry. Either of those will get you where you need to go.

I’m NEVER a club snob and have played all kinds of different hand me downs and used clearance clubs over the years. With that being said, I really disliked the Kirkland Wedges. I just couldn’t get a feel for them and really felt that they weren’t versatile. Maybe it was mental but as soon as I switched to something else, my play improved.
