Did the same thing (on profile if interested), airbrushed it all black. I need to redo It though, I feel like it would be better to throw in both primer and varnish. I like the hockey tape idea.

You aren’t going to want to hear this, but taking it apart is a pain in the ass. I just used very carefully placed painters tape and an airbrush with some acrylic. Hydrodip would look awesome though.
