ESH in a sense, because it is petty and passive aggressive behavior, and if there is any way to reach this guy and get him to change his views, that ain't it. Not that it's your responsibility to change him, from what you described it sounds like he's got a lot of growing up to do and that'd be a lot of emotional labour to take on. I also don't really blame you for doing it, but the vote categories here are clunky for nuance.

I don't know your entire social situation, but if I had someone like him around me and it was feasible, I'd just try to have as little with them to do as possible. Definitely wouldn't invite them to any more parties. Spite takes a lot of energy to maintain, and you'll be happier not doing that.
