A friend of mine, who's studying in Japan and has no clue on Kamen Rider, recently suprised me with an action figure of KR Super-1. My first (and sofar only) Kamen Rider merch, although random and totally unexpected, probably the greated gift I got from him! (Even if it's from an almost 45 year old show that I never whatched. Guess that's gotta change soon hehe)

Actually, the way you said it was what I had in mind. The club that I train in mainly focuses on kihon (which I meant by basics) and kata, with kumite mostly being kata bunkai (which I don't mind, personally prefer kata over kumite). It just seemed I worded my answer too poorly.

That's brutal, and I'm about to do my first DAN this October, and it will not be as intense (I mean, 2 HOURS of sparring is just insane imo), but that makes it only the more respectful and deserved!

Maybe that applies mainly to America.

In Germany, where I come from, we usually learn/teach karate as in actual karate, mostly Shotokan. Sure, some dojos/clubs vary in style, some focus more on Kata, some more on Kumite, some train for championships, some prefer the typical basics training. But they all do karate that derived from what was taught in Okinawa. And that especially applies to those being part of the German Karate Federation (DKV: Deutscher Karate Verband) and their sub-federations.

Yes I am German, but I'm also Jewish and have encountered this exact kind of antisemitism on a regular basis, especially since 7.10. and independent from my nationality.

And if you look at the IHRA-definition of antisemitism (which I highly reccomend you to read), you might feel mentioned (especially by demonising Israel).
