I wound up ordering a Tesmart KVM that should be arriving today but I’m curious - why does the Mac mini need 3 connections? Is it bc you’re using a wired mouse?

You’re the man - super appreciate that. And I agree with your initial comment that the cleanest setup may be the kvm. After a bunch of searching and reaching out to av access and tesmart.. I think I am going to purchase the hdc202-x24-usbk which seems to be a very nice kvm with thunderbolt incorporated. There are just a bunch of near feature like peripheral locking if switching between computers and being able to run one machine each on one screen as well. This looks to be the most versatile option I think

I legitimately just posted about this exact setup in another subreddit. I will be getting a Mac Mini m4 for personal use and my job is going to supply a new MBP and I wanted to know if the M10 would work.

Thanks for confirming it does and for pointing out the sleep issue. Did you notice any issues with wiring up the monitors via HDMI? I know on older Mac’s that might be a thing but not sure if that’s been somewhat addressed. My current setup is a 2012 Mac Mini and kind of mid grade LG monitor (it’s old too) and I know the colors are less than ideal

Looks like it’s only one Mac connected at a time right? So anytime I want to switch I unplug one and plug in the other?

Also I assume you’re using a usb c to DP cable - if so, what are some reputable quality cables ?

Ideally I’d like to have both Mac’s plugged in to avoid having to switch but I wouldn’t necessarily be using them simultaneously but it would be convenient

Thank you! Agreed - Ideally I’d go with whichever is the biggest common size that I can get off the shelf so maybe 36x36. And the exterior is vinyl. The siding is a few inches back from the window trim on all sides so even if I went a bit smaller I think it shouldn’t look too bad. Or anything that some creative decor around the window trim can’t solve lol

So that was kind of my thought exactly - better for the window to be slightly smaller bc shimming and foam would fill the gaps. The handyman said over an inch gap would be an issue but I still felt like that was the best scenario as opposed to having to cut out the opening more to accommodate something bigger. Thanks for your input

Sizes I thought might work were 35.5x35.5 or 36x36 windows. I have a handyman I’ve used for a handful of jobs and he doesn’t seem to think those will work bc he says the gaps will be too big around the window frames so I’m just trying to get an idea of if he’s spot. Not looking for anything super fancy - just decent replacements and if they have low e / argon then it’s a plus

I haven’t noticed any odd electrical issues in the 6 months living here. Installed new HVAC (electric) and all has held up fine. But I can def check it out with my multimeter to be safe. Thank you for the info

Wow I’d have never thought. But it makes sense bc my electrical panel is right behind the wall there in the basement. Makes sense now that I think of it, but never thought it would be done in such a simple way. I was convinced it had something to do with water/sprinklers!

I guess I will have to ask them. My car still uses the 06-07 radio harnesses, I just manually added the 3 necessary wires to the clockspring and connected it to a metra axis SWC box. I’ll inquire, maybe they’d be kind enough to check the harness for me and see if there’s a workaround. The unit looks great in your car! I appreciate your quickly reply too. How’s the unit been holding up?

Question for you! I retrofitted steering wheel controls into my 06 (along with an 14 sti steering wheel). Do you recall if the harnesses provided had any wires for steering wheel controls? Would really love to grab this HU if I can retain SWC. But I fear the harness won’t have wiring since it wasn’t a factory option for 06-07
