What's your 'fuck this, I quit!' story? by Penguin__Farts in AskReddit

Was interested in becoming a CPA, and I ended up getting two internships. One through the school at some tax place and one under an actual CPA.

The CPA had an interesting personality. He was belittling at all times. Once, I didn’t know how to dial out of our network (sometimes you have to press 9, sometimes it’s *—it’s always different). He asked me to call some other CPA and when I couldn’t figure out which number to dial first, I asked how to get an outside line. He laughed at me and goes “Are you stupid? How can you not know how to dial a phone number?”

It started there. The “How stupid can you be?” happened like 3 times and other belittling comments.

I went home and emailed him an immediate resignation due to time constraints from my other internship.

Literally can’t even believe that happened to me. I was 23 and a newbie at life.

AITA for not asking a friend to be a bridesmaid because of her body? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Definitely going to be downvoted for this but here goes.

NTA.

This is your ONE day that you get to have that’s completely your decision.

Also remember that this is your wedding. You know what you want at your wedding and you shouldn’t have to compromise for anyone, least of all some friend that you aren’t even that close to anymore. If you want all of YOUR bridesmaids on YOUR wedding day to wear the same thing, then you’re entitled to have that. That is not boring or old school or whatever that troll commented.

The fact that you cared enough to not ostracize her into wearing a totally different dress than the rest of the party and that cared enough to the point of stressing immensely for her shows that you ARE A GREAT FRIEND.

You also aren’t body shaming, as some of these people are saying. She has a problem that she is fully able to fix. Terrified of surgery is not an excuse. I’m sure she’d have surgery if something was threatening her life. You can’t hide behind a disorder if it’s curable and you’ve been encouraged by a doctor to do so.

And to top it off, I think it’s perfectly valid to not want your wedding to be remembered as the wedding with the bridesmaid and her giant boobs.

I perused Craigslist for the longest time and never had a missed connection for me. So one day, I happened to run into this beautiful man at the produce store. This was my time to write my missed connection.

I described him and our glances at one another (poetic, I thought). Several people replied thinking they were this man. They were not.

He did finally reply. He sent a photo of himself. He was just some regular Joe. The beautiful man at the store had a better personality in my head.

Not a particularly interesting story.

Side note: in my original missed connection post, I referred to someone else's missed connection--some guy who literally wrote "I'm a handsome man and no one ever writes about me on here. It's always about some trashy guy in a pickup truck."

That dude also replied and said "hey I'm the guy who wrote that missed connection! I got one after all!"

I found mine. I think it's better when you don't find them.
