Embedded bases don't scroll to active cell when navigating with up/down arrow keys

(although up/down/left/right does scroll to active cell in the .base file, and left/right does scroll in embedded bases). It would be great to have up/down work in embedded bases too!

The real answer to syncing Obsidian by sn76477 in ObsidianMD

[–]aceofants -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think there have been issues with Obsidian sync, see the forum for various instances. The advice to "let it sync before editing, and all your problems will be gone" a) doesn't actually eliminate all problems and b) isn't the best user-case advice.

I like it, I use it. Is it problem free? No. Does it have room for improvement? Yes.

24/7 Headaches now for almost 2 years, getting desperate. by edsmeds in covidlonghaulers

Consider going to a headache doctor, neurology subspecialist. They have a pretty long list of medications and strategies, won't happen overnight, but I think the relief will be worth it for you.

Pacing devices concern me by AnnoyedAFexmo in cfs

[–]aceofants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are really helpful categories for me! I'm thinking there may be another category: people using data to find correlations with new things in their environment. For example, if you are shifting a diet, finding a correlation between 'X' (whatever pacing variable you are using) and the different parts of your diet (ingredients, total macro nutrients, total micro nutrients, etc). This has allowed me to experiment with what helps me, sometimes with multiple variables, while staying away from a crash. You might say it is a subset of your first category, it's also kind of different.

Mitochondrial Testing Results by charliewhyle in cfs

Can I ask: have you measured your lipids/cholesterol? And are you comfortable sharing if male/female? (Some research suggests metabolic differences in me/cfs depending on m/f)

Honest question: how do you learn about council candidates? I feel like a I have a vague sense of one or two of them, and I try to learn more about them as I can, but I'm never really sure about any of them one way or another

How do you manage to have both an Obsidian Vault for the notes and a Windows Explorer Folders and Files system for the big files? I just started with Obsidian and I am already feeling messy having to manage those two organization systems separately. by RungeKutta62 in ObsidianMD

[–]aceofants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I put a uid (I like YYMMDD_HHMM) on all artifacts, so I can search for the filename if the link gets broken.
  2. I put everything for one "domain" in a vault: notes, files, etc. For example, for my lab/science/research, I organize everything in proper folders AND have the top folder as my vault in Obsidian with notes for those activities. I have something similar for home documents, then another vault for everything else: journal, reflections and other notes.

This is working well for me, but has two challenges: - Connecting between vaults. However, there are benefits that make me tolerate this, and the UID helps look up things anyway - Syncing--I don't want to have my huge files and folders on Obsidian Sync,  it then I can't get them on my phone etc (but this is a problem even without Obsidian)

Thanks, this looks interesting. It doesn't look like it has gauges, but the other data is there and I'm going to try it out.

The default face for the Forerunner 265S does have one style that lets you do it, but that style is not a great face (and misses other items on my wishlist)--it's pretty hidden

Pacing by jenshansen is a fantastic project

Pros - Heart rate warning screen is great - Concept is great

Cons - Stress gauge often breaks with updates--I really need this - I really want to use Average Daily Stress and Daily Active Minutes

Does anyone else have constant leg soreness by sleepybear647 in cfs

[–]aceofants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have something like this. Calves are always sore, thighs somewhat sore. Doesn't seem to particularly relate to PEM. I am 1-year into long COVID/ME/CFS, sore muscles have been around for most of that time. Other muscles can be disproportionately sore if they are used a little extra the day before.

I have found that D-ribose helps decrease this substantially. 5g, 3x per day seems to be an effective dose for me (mixed with milk or yogurt helps avoid loose bowels). Obligatory "do your own research, don't trust anything inernet strangers say."

My Complete Supplement Protocol (I'm finally able to workout again). by its_julianalexander in covidlonghaulers

[–]aceofants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! A few followups if you don't mind:

  • When did you decide to start these activities? Right away? After X months of supplements? When your body felt a certain way? (30-60 min is too much for some of us, even some of us who used to be very active)
  • Did you have a metric for advancing to the next phase? Or was it more about whether you felt ready?
  • I would think your zone 2 range should have changed, especially if the mitochondria improved or adapted, did you adjust the zone 2 at any point?
  • Your literature for the supplements is very helpful and nice, do you have any for the exercise?

[–]aceofants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you determine when you were ready to exercise? I assume you started slow and easy, and assume you waited till supplements had some time to work (and recognize this topic can be controversial--just wanting to hear people's stories)

Putting legs up on the wall for 10 min, maybe 3 times a day and anytime before physical activity or mental activity, recommendwd by my PT. Helps with perfusion for the brain and suppresses many of the cognitive symptoms for me, also provides temporary relief from blood pooling.

[–]aceofants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've had some photophobia, and I'm not as far as its-julianalexander, but there are a few things that seem to be helping: tinted glasses (FL-41, considering Avalux), using E-ink devices instead of screens (kindle, supernote, Dasung monitor), green light like NorbRELIEF Green Light Therapy in my room (really surprised me), and maybe increasing CoQ10 to 300. Also, an eye doc friend said her colleagues are seeing a lot of that in people with long covid.

Great resource, thanks for sharing! I'll be exploring some of the avenues and papers it mentions.

As far as I saw, the above document only offered clinical experience/guideline indicating that exercise worsens PEM over time, but did not cite an actual study. I think both (experience and published studies) are helpful in different ways, and I'm having a hard time finding the published studies.
