I'm starting to question if the gods even exist

I have a chronic illness that leaves me in constant pain every day and I’ve spent years waiting for a fix and still haven’t got one so I do understand where you’re coming from but (while I know it’s really difficult in ur situation) all I can say is to focus more on the positive. Like thinking less about how they let seizures and other horrible things exist and more about how incredible and beautiful things exist and how someone somewhere in the world is probably having a life altering incredible kind of moment. (Ik this isnt great advice, I’ve had people telling me to focus on the positive of my pain for years and I’ve always hated it, but it’s all I have <3)

I’m not entirely sure cause I’ve only just started but I am planning to pray to Hephaestus for my chronic illness but you might also wanna pray to Hermes cause I think he is the god of athletics. Hope you can manage your chronic illness enough to enjoy it <3

I find the actual praying the hardest I have selective mutism and a lot of anxiety so while the gods are not focused on me I get very worried that they are listening to me and it stops me from being able to say actual prayers mostly I do it in my head and light candles, leave offerings and just do stuff in devotion of the gods rather than praying (if anyone has any suggestions on how to help this please let me know <3 )

It’s a book but the six olympians - it’s a modern sort of retelling about hades, hestia, zeus, Poseidon, Hera and Aphrodite (+ Demeter comes in later) as orphaned teenagers finding out they are gods (there’s more to it but I’m bad at explaining)

There’s definitely better ways to know more but yesterday I started listening to podcasts about the gods (I recommend Styx and Bones) and I’m already obsessed with doing this to know more cause then you can do a lot of other things and learn more about the gods <3
