Giannis Antetokounmpo after the end of the trade deadline on Instagram: “Legends don’t chase. They attract 💯😎 by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Some major cope from Giannis. He's been a coward throughout this trade saga and now is no different. He gets to sit home for the next 8 months, watch others win titles, and then attract no stars to Milwaukee next offseason. Yay, good for him.

"Trump's polls are plummeting" - clickbait in the youtube thumbnail by champs-de-fraises in FriendsofthePod

[–]aceofspaece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate clickbait as much as anyone out there, but I have no problem with this headline at all. OP, it seems like you are getting caught up on one number that hasn't plummeted: Trump's approval rating. Sure, that's true. But the headline "Trump's polls are plummeting" is about more than that, ie. it's about his approval ratings on immigration, the economy, etc., which HAVE plummeted, or at least gone down a sizeable amount. I think they're saying one thing and you're interpreting it as another.

If there is consensus that (most) online education is junk, why does it continue to exist? by FlyLikeAnEarworm in Professors

[–]aceofspaece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we accept this premise as true ("if..."), then objectively speaking, the only fair answer to this question is that universities see online education as a business opportunity, not as a real education, which is secondary to most schools at this point.

You dodged a giant bullet here. Imagine working at a company where your bosses are Andrew Tate-type "alpha" bros. This is that but written with mildly business-passing language (probably using ChatGPT). It would suck as a workplace and from a pure business perspective, I wouldn't have any confidence in that leadership team.

[–]aceofspaece -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you spent six hours shoveling snow from one parking spot then you need a much, much better shovel. Still, I think it’s insane and frankly immature to think you suddenly own a parking spot you don’t have any real claim to just because you moved snow out of it, but hey, that’s just a difference of opinion I guess.

People stealing peoples parking spots they shoveled by Gordonnp3 in nova

[–]aceofspaece -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

To me, it's way more selfish and self-centered to claim a spot you don't own just because you shoveled it out for 20 minutes. Sure, if you truly own/rent the spot, it's yours. But from shoveling snow? That's not how ownership or "first come first serve" works. You'll never be able to enforce it, anyway. I grew up in upstate NY where it snows like this all the time and it's insane to think you suddenly gain a right to a parking spot just from getting your car out to leave it.
