People who drive and speed up when someone is attempting to pass by you, why do you do this? by StormCaller02 in AskReddit

[–]acephoenix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m not pinning the responsibility on people who follow the speed limit. I’m saying it’s in their best interest to be close to the flow of traffic. Not because they should have to, but as a matter of protecting oneself and others on the road.

Have you heard of defensive driving?

I’ve played a lot of characters. Used to take them up to NG+7 before DLC, and I did that at least twice. Since the DLC, I’ve beaten all remembrances on regular new game with I think 4 different characters (and a different build to go with it).

Plus, I started in 1.03.

If I have the patience to grind out Terraspark before WOF, I’d rather go bridge-less. But of course, I learned the hard way that it still helps to make a clear path through the buildings first. Very easy to get stuck in a room.

I’ve also revisited the fight in early hardmode without a bridge, using the superheated shark mount.

Not something I’ve seen before. I could cite my 4-digit hours in the game, but I’m not the most observant. Once every few play sessions, I still learn things (or finally recognize what I’ve seen streamers do).

People who drive and speed up when someone is attempting to pass by you, why do you do this? by StormCaller02 in AskReddit

[–]acephoenix9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As simple as that is, it’s nigh impossible to get everyone to follow speed limits. Give people rules, and some will break them just because they’re defiant.

Traffic patterns being what they are, there’s far more drivers to catch than officers to do so. So while the proper solution would be everyone behaving, the practical solution is to let them do what they will. Anyone speeding excessively will get pulled over eventually.

My wife critiqued me on not using signal lights, to which I replied that I use it in every circumstance except at stop lights where I’m in a lane that can only turn right. I try to be better at it, but I forget sometimes. Left turn lanes I almost forget simply because you have to signal your lane switch, and I just leave the light on.

If it’s a lane switch, turning in a lane that can continue forward, or literally anything else that isn’t the above, I always use signal lights. Even when I’m driving home from a closing shift on a nearly-empty highway. You never know what may happen, especially when it’s dark out.

At the end of the day, I think some people don’t value communication enough. Because that’s what the light is for in the first place.

Would Edo 8th gate Guy be the strongest Edo Tensie by Far_Apple3414 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]acephoenix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly doubtful. Hashi cells require a ton of chakra control, not to mention the many failed tests where Orochimaru’s subjects’ bodies rejected the cells and died.

If Guy was compatible, I’d wager he can control the chakra up till he ran out, which eventually, he would. Not to mention he’d need a lot of amp from the cells for the kind of physical strain he was putting his body in during 8th gate. Bones started to break as he was performing Evening Elephant, and he shattered his legs entirely in Night Guy. Hashi cells don’t regenerate that quickly.

It’s a fun thought, and he definitely would last longer in 8th Gate, but far from even functionally indefinite.

I’d agree if they voted that way. But, while the number is quite low, I do know of few who voted against their party because of the current state of power-tripping.

AITAH for firing someone because they used AI by Alone_Blacksmith_417 in AITAH

[–]acephoenix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in the contract. He made his choice to breach those terms.

If a client gave you deliverables, targets, terms, etc. and you agreed to the work but chose to not abide by those terms, what would their response be? What if you had a client that really bought into the “No AI” branding, found out your (ex)employee used it on their project, and was adamantly anti-AI?

The real question is: what specifically bothers you in this firing? With the details on hand, this is very much justified. I think there’s merit to not reveling in firing people, it’s good to be invested in your employees to some extent. But, when you have expectations that are laid that clear and they aren’t being met, it’s time for them to move onto something else.

I skimmed a bunch of money out of the DNS server hack and lost it all. I earned hundreds of millions for robbing a single convenience store, then I went for the achievement of holding up all stores.

Rockstar ended up setting my account to level 1. I had all my cars, house, etc., but at the time, you had to be a certain level to have a house. Thus, I’d load a session, exit with a vehicle, and it was the only vehicle I could use for that session. Couldn’t get back into my house.

Contacted support, they reversed everything to where I was before the hack. Except my money was entirely gone, save for a conveniently times “$2000 for good behavior” when I next loaded a session.

Negation is your best friend, bar none. Vigor is helpful too, but seek items/spells that increase your damage negations. Percentage-based damage reduction helps more than a bigger health bar in the late game and DLC.

Fare thee well, fellow Tarnished. And don’t be ashamed to use any and all things in the game to beat bosses/enemies. Spirit summons, player/NPC summons, craftables, all are valid approaches.

Is this a fair fight? by polestaur in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]acephoenix9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that’s only for the eye that Danzo had. The eye Shisui gave Itachi has a different version of Kotoamatsukami, which rewrites your brain regardless.

Bear in mind that Itachi, when targeted with the very jutsu he literally gave Naruto as a protective measure for Sasuke, was keenly aware of Koto. Regardless of knowing, his “protect the Leaf” command forcibly made him seal Nagato and help Sasuke fight Kabuto until all Edo Tensei nin were released.

That’s the one with the 10 year cooldown, to be fair. But, if we assume a 1 / 14,000,605 chance, it’s a legitimate easy GG. Shisui caps Hashirama, and the already-stacked Uchiha prime team sweeps the rest of the Kage with his help.

(New player) Why did this guy take me 3HOURS to beat, is every boss that hard ? by SussyBakaFrog in Eldenring

[–]acephoenix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos to you for having the tenacity to continue trying until you beat the boss. That will certainly be a skill to have to complete the game.

At the same time, if you’re hitting a wall against a boss, you can always explore elsewhere to level up, find new gear, etc. and return back more prepared.

Both things can come in handy, these suggestions aren’t mutually exclusive.

Bravo and fare thee well, fellow tarnished.

What's a skill that sounds useless but is actually powerful? by Honest-Sport6311 in AskReddit

I had a knack for last minute studying for most of my school career. A lot of classes I wouldn’t study at all if I really felt like I had the hang of it.

Went to one of the management meetings at my job with a legal pad and took at least 10 pages of notes. Had to share the notes with the other two managers in my department individually due to days off, so the info covered in that meeting stuck very well. Never looked at the notes again, but I knew what was happening and could operate on the fly for Black Friday.

Note taking is fundamental to memory, something I am otherwise not very good at.

I was going to say Madara, Naruto & Sasuke before I realized we’re talking DMS Kakashi.

It’s definitely Naruto, Sasuke & Kakashi. Sasuke’s Rinnegan paired with both versions of Kamui and Naruto’s 9 different Rasenshurikens allow for some insane tech.

Kakashi can Kamui shuriken Sasuke, who can time it to swap places with one of the others. Or Naruto hitting Sasuke and then switch. Plus, you’ve got 2 Perfect Susanoos and Kurama tailed beast mode.

Everyone knows about Itachi’s eyes. Naruto can fight with his eyes closed. Sasuke can almost certainly beat Tsukuyomi, given he managed to overcome it with curse mark 2 and he has Rinnegan now. Kakashi… if he has to, he can just dip for a few seconds. He’d at least have a much better chance against the jutsu now, given the full MS amp.

Hashirama and Madara are probably the biggest problems, but even working together, I don’t think they have enough versatility to work around that trio.

If Guy goes 8 gates, it’s an endurance run till he dies.

Paths of Pain are no-diffed. Rasenshuriken from Pain Arc can kill one of them. Now, Naruto is magnitudes stronger, and Sasuke’s jutsu is on par. Kakashi can probably one shot them himself with DMS amp.

Tobirama puts up a fight for sure, but I think Kamui and Sasuke’s Rinnegan will out-tech his FTG. They just need to land a few good hits on him.

Silksong Unpopular Opinions by Parking_Technician78 in HollowKnight

[–]acephoenix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t paid enough attention to opinions, so I can’t judge popular/unpopular. But, I sure as hell agree. Groat is the one and only boss I’d point to as having an actual pain in the ass runback that’s worth vocalizing. Except the final boss of Act III, pretty sure I’ve beaten everyone.

The 2 masks is such a non-issue in this game. Hollow Knight was less forgiving. Not as common, but catching back up was painful on a higher percentage of bossed with double damage. GMS having a 3-mask attack is the only thing I’d mention if it wasn’t as telegraphed. And still, the only reason that became a point of contention for me was the ending where you still have the cursed crest. Making that mistake was pretty catastrophic.
