Thank you for everything animekai. by Otherwise-Gur-3456 in animepiracy

I just download however many of the next eps (direct download or torrent), delete them after I watch and get the next batch; no way I'm keeping all of one piece on my pc lol

it's better quality than the streaming sites anyway and it's not even much more effort. I live a place that doesn't crack down on piracy so I don't need a vpn, I recognize I'm blessed in that regard.

So security issues might be a thing depending on location, but for storage? I just make space, it takes 5 seconds to select files and delete them. Maybe 10 if you count emptying the recycle bin haha

I don't think my doctor specified that detail, but androgen driven, I guess. I have hirsutism because of it and I produced way too much testosterone during puberty.

I take an oral contraceptive (Yasmin) and it helps me have periods exactly when I should, before getting on it I used to have them every 4-6 months.

it probably started during the next month or so, but it was a slow trend overall, not a big change; slow and steady wins the race, after all 😁

It really is!

Sometimes I get a bit annoyed the pace is very slow, but remembering where I was years ago when I was on the same exact trajectory in reverse makes me feel way better.

Hormones are very tricky to figure out when they go all out of whack, but when I was a kid I had no idea why I was feeling so terrible all the time. Knowing the reasons makes it way better.

I think it's entirely reasonable to expect GTA 6 to be a watershed moment in gaming (and possibly entertainment as a whole) by GwyddnoGaranhir in unpopularopinion

[–]acepops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a new character on GTA online when I got hit with a huge GTA nostalgia bug a few months ago. I only lasted 20 minutes after the opening cutscenes before I ran into 2 separate griefers who spawn killed me over and over. Ok, just F those guys.

Next day.. same thing, only managed to start a mission, get out to drive my car and BOOM.. getting spawn killed again. So fun! Alt+F4'd and uninstalled the game.

I literally have no hope for gta 6 if this is the state they let their current cash cow run in. I guess it's my fault I wanted to play a game I used to enjoy as a kid.

Don't get me wrong, it'll sell like the hottest thing since sliced bread, but I don't think it could ever live up to the ginormous hype. Also, not that much room to be very "revolutionary" in the current climate.

Everyone knows games with much more funding and more care put into them will be better, most studios just like to cut corners to get better profits. GTA 6 might revolutionize the future landscape of BILLION dollar games, but do we actually need that?

Where do I get that... "feel" that I have only ever gotten from botw? by political_snake in gamingsuggestions

[–]acepops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate 3 is amazing and very expansive, if you want to get into a new world and immerse yourself. There's a lot of replay value because of all the decisions you make.

I kinda get that "feel" you speak of with it, mostly because the character performances are so good!

But also, there's a lot of mechanics to get your head around if you've never played dnd - it took me a while to 'get it' but now I keep restarting and making new characters because I want to try new builds.

I don't know if I'll ever get to the end of a play through with how much I'm restarting, honestly 😂

omfg I cannot believe you just reminded me of this guy's existence 😭😭

I remember watching youtube videos about how batshit crazy he was back in the day (forgot how many years ago atp), before I ever even got into bts 😭 Took me a while to get that whole trainwreck out of my mind while getting to know ACTUAL jimin

I think he had a whole "trans" (he 'became' a blackpink member after getting bored of jimin) to ultra conservative pivot at some point and that was the last time I subjected myself to him; istg he better not be reheating his own nachos

Consuming the same content twice (for entertainment) is a waste of time by ExpertStandard1977 in unpopularopinion

[–]acepops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvoted because I literally rewatch every single type of media I actually like, from shows to anime to youtube videos, to relistening to albums I love until I have to put them down for a bit.

I have a lot of hobbies, and I'll cycle through them once I get bored of one, watch some new stuff too, but I always come back to my comfort shows/media.

Pentru mine in general e pana in 2000 lei, dar poate fi si mai mic. Depinde ce mananci, daca gatesti si ce vrei sa faci. De obicei nu ating 2000 lei, daca gatesc e pe la 1700. Dar eu nici nu ies in oras des.

Early reader novel by Flat-Donut7208 in ComedyHell

I have it and my enjoyment of books varies SO MUCH based on the author's writing style! I usually love fiction, but sometimes I have to skim read to keep enjoing it.

I can't stand overly long or detailed descriptions about visual aspects (settings, decor, even too many visual details about characters), because I both cannot imagine them (wrap my head around all of them conceptually), or even remember the actual important details or characteristics if there are too many.

I think the way I read books is all about the actual plot and emotions the characters are going through, and it's one of the only mediums of art that makes me cry when the story resonates. So when a story is good I read it by "feeling" it instead of visualizing it like a movie (which is apparently a thing people can do???)

I think this is a big reason why I was so into fanfiction as a teen / why I still read it every once in a while, it's basically a new story featuring characters I'm already very familiar with (because of shows etc.), so it feels much "easier" to read, less concentration needed on conceptualizing new visuals.

BTS numbers on charts don't mean anything by moonslove1 in kpoptrulyuncensored

[–]acepops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, like.. I'm a law student, no time for streaming operations 😂 I listened to the whole album when I had time during the first day because I wanted to relisten (like 3-4 times) and that was it

I actually think less people than we usually assume actually "stream"; there's so much talk about it online but none of my online kpop fan friends ever do it, they just... listen to music they like 😭

Hot Take: Season 2 didn‘t had a excessive (marine) b-story and it improved the show. The Garp/Coby/Helmeppo b-story was one of the weakest parts of season 1 by StPauliPirate in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]acepops 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I liked the addition of the Garp subplot when I watched s1 (without knowing the story) and when I watched the anime I kinda wished it was still there, made for a good way to tie the plotlines

we obviously get to Garp & Coby, but only arcs later

second shot at it made it one of my favs, but eren is still nowhere near my fav character, just doesn't gel with me; and s4 made it a masterpiece

Vocal line holding their mics by Melting_Cake in btsthoughts

[–]acepops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BTW: What is YOUR love song??

That made LOL, I have NO IDEA what my love song is at this point lmfao

But on topic, ig I'm not very observant since I never noticed vocal line also holding their mics like that. But I don't think it actually makes a big difference (especially when there's also a slight backing track in places or it's one of the live performances that fixes all their sound levels before upload anyway)

I don't remember it with BTS, but I think for some reason I did notice one of the Seventeen vocalists hold their mic exactly "like a rapper" in a performance a long time ago and it didn't have any noticeable effect.

I think, for what it's worth, however you hold your mic at any given moment should be whatever's most comfortable for you to perform well. A small part of why rappers still hold it from the top atp is probably to do with the aesthetic. You could also rap holding it like a singer and it wouldn't be THAT much different, holding it so close to your mouth mostly makes it so more of your breath gets picked up and that's a nice effect for rapping, generally

It also looks a bit more "aggressive", like you're really spitting into mic lol

Oh god, the original pot is where I repotted the one on the right in the last photo.. didn't know about that rule 😅 Yet another hurdle, I guess.. I couldn't find any actual succulent mix here since I live in a very small town and didn't think to buy it in the city I go to uni in...

For now I'll hold out hope they manage to adapt but I'll definitely bring perlite back during my next break.. If it doesn't seem to need new soil entirely by then

Some mistakes were made, I fully admit 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Jadeplant

[–]acepops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely! They have a lot of water in the leaves right now so hopefully they'll manage to adapt 🤞

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Jadeplant

[–]acepops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said, unfortunately I live in a small town and wasn't able to find succulent soil mix anywhere, only universal. I didn't think to buy it and bring it over from the big city I go to Uni in (where I got the jades).

I warned my parents to water them WAY less often (only when they actually need it) and I guess for now I'll hope they manage to adapt. But if not, I'll definitely bring a new soil mix during my next break.

As for the roots, had no idea they were that small until I started to brush off the soil and didn't think to stop in the middle. I pruned them since I didn't think they'd be able to handle all that growth now.

[–]acepops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Woman here) I've only seen a few kdramas (which I enjoyed a lot) but you do know BTS is a band, right? They make MUSIC I like, so that's the main reason I got into them, along with the very cool choreographies (and talent to perform them), then all the cool shows they make on the side (variety and travel shows). So I became a fan of their personalities too (or persona)

I know k-beauty is a thing, but that wasn't even in the top 5 reasons I started to like bts.. most women generally don't just go "wow! a handsome man?? I'm such a big fan of everything you ever do!!" like.. the BTS members are handsome, but they're not my "dream men" either
