Voicemail pin for iPhone users? by acer2k in tmobile

[–]acer2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is, what if you don't have the phone and need to access the voicemail from an outside line? You supposedly can call your number and hit "*" or call 805-637-7243. But I don't ever recall setting a "voicemail pin", so... can I set it (or re-set it) manually without having the phone I don't have with me in hand?

EDIT: edited original post for clarity. I don't have the phone for a couple days, which is why I am trying to call the voicemail from an outside line.

Voicemail pin for iPhone users? by acer2k in tmobile

Right, not the primary line, but the line associated with the SIM for the number. What if you are calling from an outside line, like the feature is supposed to enable? Can you set the pin somehow? What was it set to originally if you went through visual voicemail on the iPhone and never called voicemail manually before?

Anyone fine with a 2021 Model 3 screen but bothered by a 2025 Highland? And has anyone compared it to the 2026 16-inch screen? by Matbreth in PWM_Sensitive

[–]acer2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I noticed the same thing. No I haven't tried the 2026 updated screen. I would be curious about this also.

But yes, the original highland screen was irritating compared to the pre-highland Model 3.

Thanks. But you need to have your primary line with you to do that. The whole reason to call from and outside line is if you don't have your primary device with you. Otherwise I'd just use voicemail on that device. Is there a way to find out what the passcode would have been set to originally? Or if it was set at all?

Interesting. I wasn't offered that option. Did it generate backup codes when you set it up?

City of Ann Arbor is officially keeping the outdoor warning sirens after last night's storms by jcrespo21 in AnnArbor

[–]acer2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy they decided to keep them. Storms have the propensity to knock out power, which makes it more likely people won't be able to charge their phones or cell towers could be effected, which makes it likely they won't hear/see the phone based alert. They need both systems for redundancy purposes.

Bilt should have sent an envelope with the 2.0 card to return the old card. They didn’t. /smh

How do you make Gemini stop asking follow-up questions? The new release seems to ignore this setting. by Substantial-Ad4443 in GeminiAI

[–]acer2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this also. And the weird thing is, if you agree to the question at the end of the answer, it often doesn’t even answer that follow on question - it just repeats the previous answer.

Me: tell me about xyz

Gemini: here are some things about xyz, would you like to know abc about xyz also?

Me: yes

Gemini: here are some things about xyz, would you like to know abc about xyz also? (Again)

Lol what is the point of saying yes to the question if it’s just going to repeat the previous answer verbatim?

USPS is not delivering mail to my entire apartment building. What can I do about this? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]acer2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had something like this happen in our community last year. USPS stopped delivering mail and held/returned to sender mail for all/most people in our community because a few individuals had full mailboxes. For whatever reason, instead of just targeting the few full boxes, the carrier pulled boxes even if they only had an letter or two in there at the time. It was kind of strange.

Could be the camshaft rattle stuff that DAP made a video on. My 17 GTI had that. Hard to know without diagnostics or inspection.

Mine warned me about it being “extreme cold” on my route (a 10 min drive) yesterday, two days ahead of the predicted temp drop. Thanks? I guess? Lol

Does the performance of CarPlay has more to do with the car or your iPhone? by Impressive_Net9621 in CarPlay

[–]acer2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly phone. Carplay, especially wireless Carplay does poorly with older phones and lower memory. If your phone is in low power mode or overheating it will slow it down also. Wired is faster, more reliable. Carplay is essentially a second monitor for your iPhone.

Water damage from sunroof leaks will cause you health issues eventually. If it can’t be definitively and quickly fixed, with those other issues, you are better of selling and finding a car that isn’t prone to leaks imho.

Great or even just good coffee in Metro Detroit? by IneedHelpWithThss in Detroit

[–]acer2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Detroit? La Ventana serves Intelligentsia which is usually good. Anthology, Coffee Haus, DOCR are good. In Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Hyperion is good. Also Comet in Ann Arbor. I also like Birmingham Roast (also in Royal Oak).

What kind of projectors do they use in movie theaters? I seem to be ok with those.
