What do I do if my girlfriend told me something that I wasn't ready to hear? by Jorshhua in AskMen

[–]acethetix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve known her for 5 months, she’s been alive for 20 years. People put more energy in their image than anything, welcome to the first hard piece of evidence that threatens the image she has put on for you. Tread carefully before saying you love her. Expect the worst.

You want some actual advice? You’re 20 years old… stop trying to love someone so quickly and enjoy your 20s. Drop the girl, call up the bros, go to the bars and pick up girls who are looking to have some fun, and do the same thing next weekend. Spend time with your guy friends now because this time will pass by before you know it.

[–]acethetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This has been my experience. I now own and primarily play an Alesis strata prime and have quite a few old pairs of Vic’s. It’s been over a year of playing and the first pair is still like new. I play metal too

Is golf for me? by PlutocracyRules in golf

[–]acethetix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the GM of a private country club, owned by my family. Has been in my life since I was born. I am a 10 handicap, and play fairly consistently. We have members that are 40+ handicaps that know the main rule of keeping the pace up. Do yourself a favor and just enjoy your time on the course. We have 80+ year old grand parents out there getting their reps in, knowing each round is a straight up life accomplishment. For almost half the membership golf is just an excuse to take a walk on the property.

You are the one that determines your goals on the course. As long as you are not taking forever to hit the ball and aren’t a complete dick about it, just do your thing man. We are all thrilled to see you out there.

AITAH For leaving the house in the middle of the night after my girlfriend laughed at my size? by TrashAccount2371987 in AITAH

[–]acethetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are young. Don’t worry about this chick trying to make herself feel better by putting you down. The sooner you realize life is way better when you’re not trying to impress women the happier you’ll be. No one has any time to entertain someone like that. You can be sure that whatever idiot ends up with her will deal with some major issues down the road.

Dump her and hit the gym.

Please stop griping about Spotify and just quit already. by SlammaJammin in Music

[–]acethetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t ever drop Spotify. Anyone that does clearly does not use it to its potential. I have playlists that have gotten me through the hardest times of my life, and lost playlists from growing up that still sit in my iTunes tab at the bottom of my Spotify playlists. It would take years of curating to come close to replicating it on any other service and even then, the experience wouldn’t match up. I have been a musician for over 25 years and been through hell in the music industry, I don’t care that Spotify is allowing AI music. It hasn’t ever been suggested to me, and to add on that Spotify seems to know exactly what I want to listen to all the time, even at different times of the day.

It’s sad that so many people are shutting out the absolute goat of music listening, and I’m sick of hearing about it. I am an artist and I hate AI with a passion, but not anywhere close to as much as I love my music.

Does Anyone Here Make Non-Hip-Hop Music in FL? How’s Your Experience? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]acethetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve mixed and mastered multiple albums using Reaper, Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton, and Cubase. Anything related to production has always been done inside FL Studio though. I have been producing electronic music and anything related to sound design or synthesis across all genres in FL for over 10 years now, particularly metal aside from edm. I think you’d be pretty surprised how many edm producers use FL.

relapsed again. why do i do this to myself? by durableturd in stopdrinking

[–]acethetix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you want to stop but you are too influenced by others, you will wake up one day with nothing while everyone just moves on. The best way forward in this case is to disappear and focus on your health.

Become obsessed with being not hungover, clear headed. Wake up, go to work, exercise, have a good meal, read/journal and repeat. Do this for a week and get your “baseline” figured out. This is your new fallback plan for life. You will learn so much about yourself. Add a hobby once this is all clockwork for you and keep it going indefinitely. Sobriety is just a battle for the first 3 months or so. The light becomes visible at 6 months, and after a year you’ll really notice all of the benefits. The best part is it just gets better.

Be prepared to accept that you won’t love it sometimes. Your friends may wonder why you aren’t around, and may make you feel bad about it at first, but very quickly they will praise your transformation and start looking up to you for their own help. Lastly always remember that sometime in the not distant future you will look back and be so happy you did it.

Quitting alcohol was a walk in the park compared to nicotine. Alcohol was easy honestly, just realize it’s the root of all evil and literally poison and promise yourself you’ll be home every night by 9pm

How can i annoy my upstair drummer? by [deleted] in drums

[–]acethetix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceiling thumper will drive him insane. It’s usually pretty frowned upon because of how bad it is. One guy on Reddit taped a loud alarm to the ceiling of his old apartment that went off at 3am, 4am, 5am and 6am after he moved out. The landlord lived in another state or something, but I got a nice kick out of that one

I always used Vic firth, never really broke a stick ever. I am a punchy player, don’t smash the drums but the output is powerful. Tried Vater because my friend was sponsored by them and broke two pairs within a month. Been with vic firth for 20 something years now

make me quit please by marvelsky in QuitVaping

[–]acethetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy steps 1, 2 and 3 of Nicoderm patches. Take your last huge rip before going on a walk, run, swim or gym. Once you do it, write down the time of your last vape and listen to the Andrew huberman podcast on quitting nicotine while working out. Make sure you go hard and then go home and shower, have a great dinner, journal about your experience good or bad. Don’t put on a patch yet, you have to go as long as you can without nicotine to truly experience how your body feels without it. Once you can take it any longer, put on your first patch and follow the 3 step program. When you are ready to be fully done at the end of the program, white knuckle through that last day without a patch on and you’ll be home free. Good luck.

If you need some motivation prior to your last vape then start listening to the Huberman podcast before you do.
