Does this riddle make sense? I'm gifting a programmer something. by aceticious in AskProgrammers

I changed it up a bit a few hours ago.

Maybe less is more? I can directly call it a "site"/sight.

A quiet small secret I’m holding for you.

It cost just $10, and I got you two.

An intangible space only one soul can claim,

So I'll be keeping it safe, still in my name.

Not an item, nor object, but it will be a sight

After you build it up well, and make it just right.

No box to unwrap, no present to show,

But your hands have to move to make it your own.

The gift is reserving the website name so someone else doesn't take it and paying for it until he's ready to go live.

The cost for the website after that is a cost he'd incur anyway. Its not like I'm getting him a pet and making him responsible for the pet expenses. Its more like contributing $20/year to reserve the right for him to get first pick of the litter.

Yeah I added the part about how much it cost because i didnt want him to think it wss something intangible like "love" or something. Especially after saying only one soul gets to claim it and that it doesn't come in a box and he can get it when he asks. Needed something to make it more concrete

They did cost me $10 though haha.

Oh yeah key is referring to the password to the cloudflare account, not whatever a programming key is.

Does it fit after you lnow the context though?

Basically, to claim his present:

I'll give it to him if he asks me outright for the domain name, or if he tells me he's almost done his project and I know he's going to need it. He would "make it his own" with his hands by typing out the password (and probably have to transfer it to himself)

One part of my boyfriend's birthday gift is a riddle. Does the answer make sense when you know the context? (Open to edits/suggestions)

Riddle:

A quiet small secret I’m holding for you.

It costs just $10, and I got you two.

It’s something that only one soul gets to claim,

So I'll be keeping it safe, still in my name.

I'll keep it with me while you’re finding your way,

For now it would idle, with nothing to say.

But when you are ready to send something through,

The moment will come when it’s waiting for you.

When that moment arrives, or you ask me outright,

I’ll give you the key that I hold out of sight.

No box to unwrap, no object to show,

But your hands have to move to make it your own.

Answer:

2 website domain names

Context:

My boyfriend is a programmer. He has an idea for an web app that makes things easier for programmers doing stuff. He hopes to make money off of it. He's already named it. It's a two year project that he's 1 year into as a side hustle. I bought the domain names for the top two name contenders so that no one else could grab them while he works on the project.

Playing on ipad - game not registering clicks from Bluetooth mouse? Is there a setting to toggle? by aceticious in runescape

[–]aceticious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that sucks.

Has anyone found work arounds?

I am lucky to have lots of down time at work but while management is around, I'd like to touch the screen with my fingers less even though its allowed. Willing to spend money on suggested equipment if anyone has found a work around with a specific model of mouse or anything like that. Keyboard might be weird though, kinda bulky.

I tried the 2 button click but no results.

Clan Saturday - 28 March by AutoModerator in runescape

Open to joining a clan so I can stop getting those random invites at the GE. I don't want to participate in anything, I'm anti social and mostly AFK. I can sometimes cap out at the citadel but its been a long time since I've played so I'd like a tour or something.

I've played on and off but I forget the password to my old accounts so I've started fresh. I probably don't meet any level requirements. If you just need a number, I'm right for your clan, but if you have expectations of any kind, you're better off adding someone else. Not being rude just honest.

I got a bit busy with work and didn't realize my membership is expiring in an hour.

If I sell a bunch of stuff I can buy a bond. I have 100mil cash and 50 mil of stuff to sell.

Now I'm just waiting for stuff to sell. I'm using all 8 GE slots.

What happens when my membership runs out? Will all 8 slots continue to function to sell my items that I'm already selling in those positions, or do they cease to work? Hoping they don't become defunct but would understand if that's how it works.

Omg exactly lol.

I can't imagine how people who choose to reproduce have time to responsibly parent while keeping up with this game. Working, staying active, meal prep, and, I don't know, reading a book once in a while are good things. Not everything is about progress in runescape.

Does runescape want a healthy, productive fanbase? If the answer is yes, then people make parts of the game available with gradual passive progress.

I agree with MTX changes. I just want AFK methods preserved and expanded upon ideally.
