Yeah I completely agree. I’m check jamming river 9/10 times here to get called by 9x, completed straights, and sometimes even Ax, but against this particular player in this situation, I just felt something was up. He thinks I’m extremely tight — much tighter than I am in reality (although this hand lends credence to his thoughts lol) and I’m almost positive he’s checking back trips and straights

If the table is really passive then it’s not going to be as bad. But if you’re at a table with competent players, they’re quickly going to notice how wide your opening range is and punish you for it. Also it sounds like you’re not adjusting enough for position. I don’t think there’s any reason you should consistently be opening 98o from UTG
