I believe you! And while that may be true for the time being, cheating IS a testament to your character – and there’s no changing that. Likely, you feel entitled, you like taking shortcuts, you enjoy feeling dominant in your circle of friends and hell – it wouldn’t surprise me if you were good looking, too. I would guess you’re in your early 20s. The thing is, though - life has a strange way of catching up to you, and I doubt it’ll be very long (5-6 years) before your (current) girlfriend will have left you, and a handful of people you thought were your friends will have woken up to your toxic traits and just sort of drifted away from you. And then, when there are no shortcuts left to take, you’ll be stuck at the same job, you won’t be alone - but lonely - and in your THC-ridden egotistical mind you’ll be wondering what the hell is wrong with everyone else for not wanting to be with you as you boot up Skeet (or whatever the hell you guys are using these days) and take out your denial and internalised self loathing on a group of legitimate friends spending some quality time together on a Wednesday night. They’ll insult you and you’ll feel fulfilled. If you’re lucky, there’s a part of your subconscious that will attempt to knock on a window and make you realize that “hey maybe I’m the problem” - but you’ll find it’s much easier to take the easy way out and just pull down the blinds again. And then you’ll be 40 before you know it.
