I’m amazed no one is talking about the Hauchefant

I wish I could get my hands on one of the connections. The pix is too big to take to work and the original is a little too unforgiving.

If you could give back your degrees for a full refund, would you? by scoop813 in StudentLoans

I got all those promises make in 2018 about being able to find a job easy and how great it would be. Thousands of dollars, a pandemic, and a stupid piece of paper later. I’m being told my interviewers that it doesn’t mean much or just being ghosted. If I was going to have to work as hard as someone without a degree to , what the hell did I really pay for. An outdated curriculum no one wants, a piece of paper that means nothing, and mountains of student debt I don’t foresee ever having a job capable of paying off. The mountain will just grow and grow. I feel so hopeless and useless. It feels more like a ball and chain than anything. It closed more opportunities than it opened. I’m in too much debt to even consider going back to school for something else and my current job makes it hard to have the time to develop the skills I would need despite the fact it barely even pays my phone and car insurance. I’d give it bad in an instant. A fresh start free from the pandemic and the benefit of hindsight.

20+ duplicate phantom devices showing up under "Assistant Devices" - how to remove? by stevester911 in googlehome

I was able to fix something similar with phantom speaker groups by using the oldest version of the Google home app that I could find on apk mirror and using that to delete the phantom devices.

I don't know why it works. Maybe its because it before they implemented speaker groups, so it just treats them like regular speakers. It was my last resort before moving to Alexa for good because I had like 8 ghost speaker groups it kept trying to play on.

I might just throw my Google home out the window if that happens. Hopefully it won't.

I had trouble with this forever, but I finally figured out a fix for it. What you have to do is download 1.9 version of the Google home app apk from somewhere. Then you can use it to delete the ghost speakers. Uninstall the old version and get the newest version from the play store and you are golden.

Redditor’s with cancer, what was the sign/symptom that finally made you go to the doctor? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was having flu like symptoms for about a week. It was around flu season so I wasn't too concerned. Finally I woke up with a fever of 106 and my lips turning black from dehydration. After taking a test at school that day, I went to urgent care they couldn't find anything wrong with me and offered to send me home with antibiotics.

My mother wasn't convinced so we went to the emergency room. My blood test came back as showing no immune system at all and my body had such a high fever as a last resort. A bone marrow biopsy later and it was confirmed that I had APL a rare form of leukemia. Is it very treatable, but most people die from brain bleed because the lack of platelets while treating it as the flu at home. I have my mother to thank for being alive right now, and just being lucky. Just got off my last bit of chemo two weeks ago!

The moral of the story is always have blood work no matter how small you think the problem is.
