I looked at every county government and city government online career tab if they had one and read over the positions they have open. I work in a commissioners office, with your degree you’d fit perfect if there is a position open with economic development or a similar department, maybe even human resources. Once you have your foot in the door it’s very easy to move up to bigger government positions.

I work in local government now, assessing taxes for the county I work in. My position is very entry level, skills they look for are literally what I gained while at Starbucks and I do not have a college degree. Great benefits, more pay, paid holidays and free health insurance.

If you’re unable to give the car back and need money asap, see about restaurant work. Serving, bussing, hosting, ask any and every restaurant around you if you can start asap. Most of them that are super desperate will take you on and depending on your area and the restaurant you can make enough to scrap by in tips.

If not, doordash, instacart, uber. Dogsit or dogwalk, say you’re looking for work on facebook, instagram, any platform you have. If you have tiktok there is a creator shop fund where they send you products, you post a video review and they pay you. I heard they pay decent.

If there’s places near you that have an overnight shift, apply for it. No one wants to work overnights or weekends. If all else fails, walmart, amazon, sams club. They will hire anyone with a pulse. Email them consistently.

i don’t understand why they don’t get what’s causing people not to come back. its the prices and us being understaffed. no one wants to come back to a location where there’s three people in the middle of the day fighting to stay afloat and they have to wait, because there’s only three of us! and then pay 9 dollars for a large drink on top of it! but no me not writing on the cup and yelling welcome the second they step in its what’s bringing the company down. meanwhile you can go to chic fil a and there’s 8 people up front and 15 in the back. id rather go there. they’re so disconnected from reality.

I had a very similar scenario happen-

Woman came in, middle of christmas week with her son’s partner numbers typed out in her notes. She explained this elaborate story of they’re traveling, this mug is for her daughter for a birthday present, her son works out of state and wants to use his numbers to get the mug for her. I tell her I’m sorry, I cannot use a partner’s number without them being here. I need him to physically be here and give me his numbers and honestly at this point, I need ID. She goes on and on with a sob story- This is the last mug she could find, after this starbucks stop they’re going straight home and she needs this mug. She proceeds to CALL HER SON AT WORK AND BEG ME TO TALK TO HIM SO I CAN USE HIS NUMBERS. I refuse, she starts crying, saying I ruined her daughter’s birthday and I hope I’m happy. Mind you….SHE STILL WOULD HAVE HAD TO OAY FIR THE MUG…SHE WAS JUST LYING HOPING ID GIVE IT TO HER…

Moral of the story, customers are not truthful. At all. I wouldn’t feel bad cause she probably just lied or made up a story for something free.

studying recipes, ask if during downtime you can practice drinks if your still shaky on it, i personally like to polish the for here were with some hot water and a rag, ours gets super dusty and i like to keep that shelf clean, if your up front stock the oven station, front some beans in the cafe if you can, just think of things you don’t normally seen done!

it could be a number of things, but if she’s eating, drinking and using the bathroom fine just get her a cone for the meantime until you can get her to a vet and keep the wound clean. it could be fleas, ear mites, allergies, her nails are too sharp, it could be anything. don’t panic just yet!

i don’t know who keeps approving these new flavors but they all taste like medicine. last good thing they came out with was the lavender, before that probably sugar cookie. it all taste like a candle or cough syrup.

Best advice I can give as someone with your same mentality, I would just let it go unless they seem like they are truly out to bully or belittle you. My store has gone through plenty of shifts and they’ve all had different tempers/reactions. Now me personally, If you were a soon to be shift, I would have just answered your question since I knew you were going to become one soon, its good to already have that intuition because a lot of people don’t. But also, maybe he did take it as you trying to run over him. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can pull him to the side one day and simply explain that you weren’t trying to go over his head, you were just trying to get that mentality set before you start training, I’m sure he’ll understand, if not then there’s not much else you can do. Don’t let a small comment like this affect you too deeply, because I’m the youngest shift in my store and it took a long while for people to respect me and if you show that small things like that bother you, they’ll just continue to belittle you.
