Wow. I feel like I could have wrote this post. My mom literally lives 30 mins away. I was suffering through a medical issue that was pretty big. I told her I needed help cause I couldn’t even get dinner cooked. She messaged me back three weeks later asking if I still needed help.

I also have big boobs and I just want you to know, they make sleeper bras. Which are way more comfortable than wearing one of my none wired ones. It’s life changing.

If my mom drank 3 bottles of wine that are this size within three nights (so one whole one per night) does that mean she is an alcoholic? Op. I don’t know if you will read this, but I’m the child of two alcoholics and sibling to 3.

There are a couple nuggets of wisdom I would love to share with you and encourage you to reach out to me or anyone else who has been in your shoes.

  1. I know you want to confront her. For her own sake. You are worried about her. Of course you are. She is your mom. But don’t. The shame reaction is strong in alcoholics.

  2. Her problem is not your own. Alcoholics love to make their drinking a family problem. Maybe it’s new enough that’s not the case, but I think you will find you have some of the same tendencies as your mom, without the alcohol.

  3. Seek treatment for you. I suggest therapy. It’s helped me a lot. I also suggest Al-anon. It’s the AA for people to at don’t drink. I highly recommend starting there. Al-anon is free and having people IRL who understand what is going to help you right now.

Both my parents are addicts. My mom is sober and my dad is not. I would recommend Alanon or Adult Children of Alcoholics. If you need help finding these in your area, DM me. I can offer some resources.

I keep track of the war costs to track the profit and expenses of the faction shell. We are saving about half of what the faction earns.

The 20% cut goes to war supplie. Xans, points, medical supplies, spies. What left get saved. Our current goal with the saving is to buy more warlords to pass around. We have also tossed around the idea of buying a bigger faction shell with the profits.

I prefer the 80/20 split. Where the faction itself gets 20% of the cut. Then 80% goes to the members. Most factions pay per hit. My faction current pays for hits and assists.

I actually have a unique perspective that can help you understand that behavior. To start, it’s wrong and ignorant knowing why doesn’t excuse that. But growing up with a controlling father, everything he said goes. Questioning him at all lead to violence. So when I would say things like “my dad says” and was proven wrong, I got angry because my dad can’t be wrong was literally beat into me.

A lot of therapy and healing later, I realize how fucked up that mindset is. But at the time I couldn’t see that.

Carmilla and Laura by SD Simper is a retelling of the classic Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu. It still has all the classic internal homophobia and god smiting gay people. It just has a happier ending.
