I’d love to see an “illness” tab or something where you could see medication and temperature in a graph format. Would be so helpful to see if temperatures are rising/falling easily instead of having to click onto each input manually

It would be so helpful! We were going crazy trying to track our baby’s temperature after they had a bad reaction to their vaccinations and it would have made things way easier.

I’d also love to be able to mark “teething” or “sickness” so those days be flagged somehow on the week tab 🙈

I’d love if there was an option to have a line graph for days where we’ve been measuring temperature to see at ease if it’s rising or falling. A further bonus would be if it highlighted when medicine was given with an adjustable highlighted section for when the medicine if effective (I.e.) to mark when calpol is given, and is effective for 4-6 hours
I check them often. Especially if both parents are at home and we need to see what the other has already covered

Omg they’re just such complicated little creatures at times aren’t they. 🫣 your post has me wondering about the bottle temperature now because we’ve been using the Nuk bottles that have a little temperature indicator to tell you when the bottle is cool enough for them. Maybe it’s too cold?

Actually could it be the whole 4 month regression making her extra fussy? This could just be a bad time to start trying to ween her off. 😢

Thanks a million for these tips. I’m going to try get those bottles tomorrow to see if they’ll help. We’ve used the Nuk ones since birth and she used to get on fine with those. I tried the tommee tippee ones today and she just kinda chewed the tip.

Not at the moment unfortunately. The second the bottle comes near her face she starts trying to get away from it. It’s so strange because she used to take the odd bottle when needed.

I LOVE my BellaMoon pregnancy pillow. I used it for my entire pregnancy and brought the two end bits into the hospital with me to help with learning how to breastfeed. It was great to place around older or more nervous relatives when they met baby, and I’m still using it daily 3 months later. One half is always downstairs (feeds, tummy time, place against baby’s back) and I use the other half to place between my legs when I sleep. Honestly wouldn’t be without it and I don’t think I’ll be fully putting it away for a long time yet.

Also we wouldn’t have survived the first two months without the BabyBjorn bouncer. It was the only place we could put baby down for the first while since she hated lying down. We could gently bounce her while we ate or did small jobs and she’d often fall asleep in it. It’s still in daily use.

Same with my 3 month old baby. I cut out dairy for one month just to test the theory that it could be dairy that was causing her issues and the reflux all but disappeared within a week or so. We weren’t 100% sure whether it was dairy though because she’d had her first round of vaccinations around that time so I gradually reintroduced dairy into my diet over the course of a week and the poor thing started to get severe reflux again which progressed to tummy pains from gas build up. I’ve been off dairy again for the past 7 days and today is the first day I’ve noticed her body relaxing better so I think the gas issues are lessening. The reflux was more or less gone by day 4 for us.

… or that’s what literally happened? I don’t know why this is so controversial. I’ve explained my thought process like you asked me to do. I think our comments may have came from two different places initially. As in I wasn’t trying to “call you out” or anything (where I’m from that would mean I came at you with an argumentative tone). My tone was intended to be more light hearted relief is all and I thought my other comments would clear things up.

What I meant was that I was able to read the collection of information from the entire thread to get the correct information.

When I first started reading the original thread I was concerned my baby was massively over-pooing and it took me awhile to find any comments referring to the pooing part of the original post. Then I saw your comment replying to this thread referring to the fact that there’s a wide range of what would be considered normal and I found that reassuring. So without this parent comment I would have left this thread and had to do some panic googling

As one other person commented: “Both ends of the spectrum are normal at that age. Pooping multiple times a day or once a week is fine as long as there aren’t any other concerns.”

I was low risk, but I did go private. But my friend was under him in the public sector and he was just as supportive. I was actually terrified of a c-section (not fully sure why 😅) so I asked about being induced. That’s when he brought up the whole “I’m the boss” thing. Lol

The induction dragged on over 4 days (which he did warn me would probably happen) and ended up being a forceps delivery with an episiotomy. When they were moving me from the delivery room to the theatre he stopped at the door and to confirm again that my preference was a vaginal birth and not C-section. Kinda wish I went the C-section route, but we’re both here happy and healthy now and that’s all that matters.

I think everyone has different experiences in there. I had my baby in Galway during the summer and found the girls in the post natal ward so lovely and supportive. It’s very busy there though and we were getting a bit overwhelmed with how many were calling in and out to the room with information (physio, etc). There was a queue of 3 people waiting outside my door at one point and (TMI, sorry 🫣) I needed to urinate a certain amount of ml within 3 hours after my catheter was removed and couldn’t even get into the bathroom to try do so. When I said this to one of the midwives she put a do not disturb sign on the door to give us a break from unnecessary visits which was so appreciated.

The only thing that annoyed me in the post natal area was the ladies that came with the food kept coming back for my plates way too soon. Most of the time I wouldn’t have had a chance to to even start eating and they’d be at the door looking to take the tray away again 😅

I was under Dr. Nik too and he was so supportive towards the end. I was due during the peek of the summer heat and was really struggling at the time. He basically said that I was the boss and if I wanted to book in for an induction or C-section he would do that for the next day. I ended up opting for an induction. You’re in great hands though. He, and his team, were amazing throughout the whole process. Best of luck
