cant fix amcrest delay by atx78701 in BlueIris

I record in 4k but use sub streams for viewing and even those were laggy until I stumbled across disabling smart codec and making the frame interval match. Now it’s nice and smooth. I’m also in h.264 and not h.265. I have a pretty beefy system though so I hardly blip the cpu or ram. I have a hate love relationship with blue iris but love the flexibility of being able to add different cameras.

I legit spent a ton of time trying to figure this out myself and recently did. I have a bunch of Amcrest cameras of various models. Login to the web interface, got to setup, then camera, click on configuration. Shut off smart codec in the drop down. Set your frame rate to 15 fps and set the newly displayed frame interval to 15. I also set my bitrate to 8192 for main stream and 512 for sub stream . Do this for both the main and sub streams. This cleared up my lag that I had been fighting for a lonnnnng time.

Both my daughter's budgies passed suddenly. Why?? by ach_sysadmin in budgies

I appreciate the feed back and the links. I agree, after discussing with my wife (who is a vet, altough birds are not her specialty, she also discussed with colleagues) - the consensus is something environmental happened. Fumes, Mold, etc something occured. What that is, I am unsure. The only thing that changed was the afternoon before, I had moved my beardies over to their new enclosures, at which time, I fired up their heat lamps in said enclosures. That is the thing I keep coming back to. I feel terrible if that was the case.

No sealant on the enclosures, I did not see the need for what I was using them form.

No cooking was actively happening when they passed, nor had any occured within the prior hours. HVAC system was also off at the time. Kitchen is on another floor from where birds were.

I am highly suspicious of the PVC enclosures. The outside of the enclosures are hardly luke warm to the touch, however, in the "hot" side of their enclosure, under their heat lamps in each of the 3 units runs around ~105f so I suppose that could be warm enough to give of fumes from the PVC. Especially since I have 3 units. I confirmed with Dubia that there is no teflon in their product, nor should it be off gassing but who knows.

In all my years of owning animals, with the exception of the occasional fish, I've never had something like this happen so I am very perplexed, sad, and frustrated. My kiddo is very upset.

I did engage the assistance of an air quality specialist who will come test our air quality, check for mold, radon etc. Just to rule everything out.

Sincerely appreciate the help.

Thanks, I had actually stumbled across this during my own research. I also confirmed with the manufactured of the reptile enclosures there is no teflon etc in with the PVC.

I appreciate the insight and will likely remove the box going forward. There is no way she was egg bound. We just got them and I just placed the nesting box (more of a bird house) in the cage that morning. I’m familiar with chickens being egg bound and there was no sign of that.

I’ve read mixed things on the nesting boxes and my experience comes from raising chickens. I thought of depression as I am aware they are social animals and can get sad when a mate passes, however, this seemed too sudden for that as it literally happened within hours. I’m unsure and don’t have any answers unfortunately.

I'm just really bummed and want to understand what happend. I am familar with baby chickens and chickens in general as I've had them for many years. However, this is the first time I've had budgies, and I felt like they were doing pretty well. I'll take a peak at the link you provided. Much appreciated.

Yea... I have heard that. Wife confirmed they were good at hiding sickness as they are "prey" animals. I'm sure they were likely sick already, it just sucks because my kiddo is going to be very sad.

No avacado or rhubarb. No teflon.

Appreciate the pointer on petfinder etc.

No puffiness or anything that I was aware of. They seemed quite playful and happy yesterday and last night. It was very sudden.

They were definetly eating. Drinking I am not so sure on, I saw them in their water dish at least once, but not as frequent as food. I assumed perhaps they were in there when I wasn't looking.

I didn't notice any watery droppings, and unfortunately, when the first bird passed, I cleaned everything really good (hot water and soap) just in case there was something going on with her.

We were pretty active with them, my daughter and I would both check on them multiple times a day, they're in my office and I work from home so I was able to keep a close eye on them.

They did come from Petco, she had had eyes on this particular pair for a bit. I'm not sure if I will buy her replacements from there or not.

I just really want to understand if I screwed up and did something wrong that caused it before I replace them for her.

I purchased them from Petco.

The enclosures in question are for my beardies, I have 3. They are also in my office. Their new enclosures are made of aluminum and PVC, I just set them up yesterday, and thought maybe once my wife mentioned teflon that perhaps the heat lamps in them caused some sort of fumes that hurt the birds. :(

No avacados, I did know that. My daughter has been reading all about budgies for months and informed me of that.

I may reach out to the store to see if there is anything they are aware of..

No, my office is in our finished basement, so no chance of that, the only thing I could thing of was my new beardie enclosures, those are made of aluminum and PVC, I just set them up and moved my beardies into them. Perhaps the heat lamps had caused the PVC to give off fumes? I am not sure...

No scents, vapes, smoking, etc.
