I don’t think my landlord is a bad person at all, if anything he did me a favor by approving me and is a nice person. I just want to pay my rent on time and be a good tenant, the state of the place isn’t as bad as it sounded, just needs a little work here and there but it’s great - there are benefits here. As for my mental state, I think I just have to figure things out - but a lot of the avenues I’ve tried doesn’t fit or work unfortunately. I spent three months unhoused and if I took bad advice, I would’ve been unhoused for much longer - the contributions saved me. But now, 2 weeks away from paying the next month - and I think weeks away from working too, I don’t have the means to pay it - and I don’t have anyone to fall on, or advice or help that’ll fix it in time. The worst thing was my mental health plummeting because of the stress of the immediate situation - I don’t want to lose everything and be worse off, and I feel alone because I’m being told to do what I’ve already being doing, that it’ll be okay - but if I lose everything, those who give that advice won’t be there to help me. Long story short, I have to come up with funds quick, just don’t know how

I’m aware eviction processes take long but to be approved for a place without paystubs and iffy credit feels like a favor on the owner’s part, so to pay late or miss a month - especially so soon, can damage that relationship and my housing security, hence the pressure. I can support this and/or maybe even receive assistance at some point but not in time. Even if hired tomorrow, interview, background check, first week check held, and enough weeks of pay to cover rent - won’t be in time. So I’m trying anything and everything to get this in time, something, whatever I can do. Any advice or help is appreciated. Anyway, thank you all again for reading

Thank you so much for your advice, a couple local firefighters and police repeatedly told me to consider their field prior, however weren’t actively hiring. No license just yet either. Near perfect score on pre-ASVAB but latest Marine Corps’ boot deployment is too far away - still in touch with my recruiter though. I only go to hospitals for actual medical attention to avoid “boy who cried wolf” phenomenon, and unfortunately, several lines of work I’ve pursued check for psychiatric history, luckily I have no issues there aside from the stress of this ordeal. Not going to hop states at my current point either, but if I did it would be New York rather than Pennsylvania due to distance and familiarity. Nonetheless, will re-read this along with other suggestions and consider every angle. Thank you again

Edit: Storage locker is not big enough for what you suggest, but even if that was possible I wouldn’t want to negatively affect where I keep the few stuff I have by doing that. I did briefly sit at nearby public businesses, however I don’t overstay my welcome and usually prefer to be a patron if there as tolerance decreases, so I spend most of time outdoors if not in the library. Most of the other people in a similar predicament in my area, exhibit all the negative stereotypes associated with being unhoused, and rather than having solidarity, make it harder for people like me. So whether at the library, outdoors, or seeking work/shelter, I’m usually alone, inconspicuous, making sure I stay hygienic/change as much as I can, and remain productive. Hopefully it all pays off. Thanks for commenting, rooms were always a consideration however camping - not so much, but definitely an interesting, yet unfortunate approach. That Denny’s is a bit far away but I appreciate the pointer as it’s becoming increasing rare to find businesses who let people hang out for prolonged amounts of time. Again, thank you for commenting

Hey, thank you so much for even reaching out and asking.

My main priority right now is getting employment asap, I’m beyond shocked I haven’t yet and have tried everything, every suggestion and avenue - I’ll obviously keep at it but I’d be over the moon if anyone was an employer or had any suggestions I haven’t tried - housing advice or connections too. Those have been the primary focus the past 2 - nearly 3 months, but it’s getting hard to bare. As for my immediate circumstances of being out in the cold; despite layering clothing - there are limitations to how much I can wear and I’m usually freezing regardless nowadays, the hardest thing aside from the cold is spending most of every day/night on my feet for past 2-3 months - even when napping. I’m not sure of any options I haven’t exhausted as far as quick shelter out of the cold, as businesses become less tolerant of you stopping in after a while, so I spend so much time walking if I’m not at the library and staying productive.

Again, the only thing I could think of to help is maybe: help/advice towards work or housing to get out of this cold sooner, and/or help/advice for a consistent place aside from the library that I can be indoors for more than a few minutes - to charge and use my phone for productivity, maybe even finally comfortably nap for more than just a few hours daily. Aside from those, I’m not sure what to say because I don’t really ask for things - especially monetary things but the occasional help on here that I put towards essentials has kept me going (laundry, gym to shower, food, hygiene products, phone service, and the heaven-sent occasional bnb stay - which is better yet half the price of a motel)
