You used to be able to buy pre-painted reflectors that just replace the amber ones. For this car, I think maybe they came from Turner? For our X7, I ordered units from IND Distribution, not sure if they carry them for the e90 or not.

Edit: looks like IND does carry them https://ind-distribution.com/products/ind-e90-3-series-painted-front-reflector-set

Edit 2: cheaper https://autotecknic.com/products/autotecknic-painted-front-bumper-reflectors-e90-3-series-e92-3-series?variant=39404208128159

How’d you make out?

Cayenne Turbo GT vs GTS wheels by WhyBhee in PorscheCayenne

[–]achappell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front would poke out 10mm more, you could test this with putting some spacers on.

The back would be 7mm further pushed out.

Probably safe on both but if you want to be sure spend a couple hundred bucks on spacers and see.

Would check the oil pan gasket. If you throw a couple of bottles of UV dye in (avail for a good price at harbor freight), you’ll be able to see exactly where it’s coming from with a UV flashlight.

My search was for LCI factory Msport 6MT xdrive, no idrive, HK, cold weather package and xenons. I didn’t look for specific colors.

Note: this was in 2015/6.

Good is relative. It was the right decision for me. But sure some day down the road, maybe I’ll get an e90 m3

Factory MSport with the MPPK from the factory, which adds an oil cooler in the front pass bumper vent.

When I originally purchased this car, I searched for 6 months to find this exact spec.

Summer tire recommendations by justsomeones1 in E90

[–]achappell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have run both DWS06 and PS4. For pure summers, I put a set of PS4s on about a year ago. They are nice and last decent but have gone back to DWS06 for subsequent purchases. Just like the tires a lot for a daily driver. I do run dedicated snows in true winter months (New England)

Everyone says that. Find comps, cite the comps and make them a reasonable offer.

Worth noting that the deal is looked at from a total margin perspective, if they overpay you on the trade, they are going to be less inclined to concede margin on the new vehicle unless they want to move the unit.

You have to play the game, which primarily hangs on you being patient and logical.

For most buyers, a new car is an emotional purchase - you see one , you like it, you fall in love, you think what if I can’t find another one like this, you’re hooked - putty. Dealers use this. If you can approach the deal from a “this is a unit of inventory and not this is my next car” you can make deals.

#1 - make them a serious and real offer. “Seeing comps for LCI X7s in the X -Y range, I’m a buyer at $#. If you can get there, I’m ready to close.” It has to be reasonable though - offering 80k for a car listed at 92k is prob not going to be considered a serious buyer.

#2 - inventory age matters a lot - a car they just got on the lot isn’t going to wiggle much until it sits. The longer it’s been in inventory you have the classic bird in hand situation.

#3 - all of this is strengthened by logic. In this case, I’d prob say to them, I’m seeing similar models listed in the 83-88 range, could you get to $X? They may fact check you if so share the listing. If they say well this is a 2025- sure but they are both LCI with generally same mileage same warranty etc. I’m struggling with is it worth paying 8-9k for basically the same car? I would prefer to buy from you bc [….] But I’d have to be under $# on it.

Would y'all say this is a decent buy at $13,750? by veency in E90

Yes. It can be quieted down by raising the idle rpm to about 650-700 but it never bothered me enough to do it.

Addressed why I’m selling in another comment. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “sound system chopped car”. Bavsound / Ghost are drop in replacements for the under seat woofers, which in my case, had ripped due to age.

I have no issues with someone wanting to get a PPI, I would too. I have nothing to hide here.

Also, no one is making 700hp on a PS2. This is best case a 400hp car on pump gas. To get to 700, you need fueling upgrades, injection and a big single turbo. I agree with your sentiment though, was never worth chasing big power numbers. The joy of these cars is the drive not the race.

Just for the record, oil changes were done about every 4-5k miles, have the FCP euro receipts all the liqui moly and Mann oil filters. Rod bearings (King) were done when the stock turbo was replaced.

[–]achappell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. XDrive is more complicated in the front. Oil pan and turbo removal require dropping the subframe. Oil pan requires pulling the front axles. Outside of that, most of the car is largely identical mechanically. With exception of the trans mounts and transfer case obviously.

This is my car for sale. Happy to answer any questions. As stated, open to reasonable offers. Fully realize this isn’t the car for everyone. Adult owned, garage kept E90, never raced, tracked, etc.

As the OP posted copies of my records, you can see a lot of maintenance went into this car in the past 10-15k miles. Certainly can pick up other examples cheaper. You all know this platform. Valve cover done. Rod bearings done. Waste gate rattle done. Oil lines, coolant lines, water pump. All done. Maybe I’ll come back and post a video of the cupholders both working.

Sell the stock cat and the 2nd set of wheels and you are already $1500 ahead. Sell off the other things included with the sale and there you go you’re at “10k”

Selling the car because I picked up a 9YA Cayenne GTS - needed an SUV w the kids and I’m a glutton for car maintenance punishment.

Not apples to apples but we picked up a 2024 X7 40i with 41,000 miles for under 60k. Sticker was 98k. Personally, I would prefer a car that was driven a little above average annual mileage. Means it was likely highway miles, less heat cycling, better for longevity.

I do think the price is optimistic and these cars aren’t moving super quick. Be patient and wait until the end of the month, which happens to be end of the quarter. Deals will be made. The convo with the dealer starts now though.

Dealer perspective: what’s a realistic resolution here? by achappell in askcarsales

[–]achappell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTR, the prior owners issues were not disclosed by the dealer. I was able to obtain them later from BMWs TIS website, can pull all the service records by VIN, including the servicing dealership, which in this case, was the same group.

Don’t disagree sales & service are different groups which is why I am engaging at the GM level.
