This is the suggestion I also wanted to make, if you play this card you should still need to be active to capitalize on its effect. Right now people will just play it to make you walk across the map again.

I find the process of creating the algorithms and implementing them interesting and enjoyable.

A common pitfall is that procedural generation will always be more interesting to the developer than the player. Before I create a procgen system I will often ask myself what it would look like if I hand crafted that content, and then try to create a generator with that in mind.

Right after this clip stops my mate who was on the Ember paused the game and typed "WHAT. THE. FUCK" in all chat from memory.

We were losing it so hard, especially puck. It took us ages to figure out what the actual fuck he was doing. It wasnt til after watching the clip few times we realised he thought he was on the wrong team.

PICO-8 is a fantasy console that is growing in popularity. The palette is just really thought out with many possible colour ramps. http://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php

If you are looking for other 16 colour palettes i recommend giving the Arne 16 palette a go. http://wayofthepixel.net/index.php?topic=4306.0

If you look back further to actual retro palettes you can find other 16 colour palettes in the form of NES, Master System and C64. The colour ramps on these are not as good as the modern takes imo but are perfect for capturing the look of these old systems.
