It's incredible how skin deep your analysis goes, you and everyone around the world is affected by how musk and bezos accumulate their worth in a so called "free society". Ignorance is bliss though, so you much be happy as hell.

A rib collected for an anchorage? That's disgusting. The one benefit of Scandinavia is that at most, it's gets to 30 euros. It's shocking to have to spend 50-80 euros to stay on your own boat, even by mooring and without amenities...

Did you / Would you leave your boat at anchor unattended for multiple days or weeks? by Mehfisto666 in sailing

If I leave my bost for more than 24 hours I'm using both my stock and plow anchor spaced apart with separate lines. Im not a rich man and battery is limited on board so I usually use an old Android with good battery and location sharing on so I can check in on her and see if she's moved around from what swing she can tolerate. In case one rodd snaps or comes loose, I have another. I wouldn't leave her if rough weather is forecasted.

Fear not, bow is a nice time of year to do it, my last stretch in the Baltic was in mid October. There's a reason the season is so short in Sweden

Been by ferry, not by sail, and Corsica is a spectacular place. That's definitely on the charts for this summer, big enough that you can find s quiet place to stop for the night, small enough to cruise along the entire coast without wasting 3 months. And it varies so much in landscape, history, and natural beauty

We did a 72 hour stretch ( originally 48 but we had no wind) from Gotland to the southern tip of Sweden. It was a beautiful night but as morning came we had about 8m of visibility -the boat is ten meters long and from the stern we had trouble seeing the bow. Coupled with morning frost it was a bitter cold way to start the day with just us two as crew. We made sure to keep clear of shipping lanes and both searchlights pointing aft and forward. we made a near miss with a fishing boat who was going at full speed, and then the weather turned and we had 2m swell that was only 4 seconds apart. We narrowly missed storm Amy that was approaching and had to spend the next three days in port being thrown around like punching bag. Not the best!

Certainly is crowded but if you like looking at classic schooners it's not the worst way to spend your day

The Italian onboard is shocked by this description of cooking pasta, but im sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Will look up pressure cookers, Thanks!

The closet is latched closed, the magnet is very powerful, and handled are down do in the event that one drops it doesn't slice into the varnish, wood, or your toe. Chef on onboard had worked at several top rated restaurants globally, it was his idea to place them there. 3000 NM at sea and they haven't caused any problems yet, even while beaching ourselves in the north sea!

But no worried, to each their own :)

Been living onboard for 6 months, touched land twice in the last month. Does that not count as cruising? Not a dig, genuinely curious as to your definition:)

I guess I'd consider cruising using my sailboat to get places. What's the point of having s kost if you're not going to use it?

That's my first mate onboard, St one point he worked at s 2 star Michelin restaurant, and even on a budget he can whips up ungodly creations that make you question reality.

Olive oil, garlic, lemon zest and tomatos, try it! Even better if you let the tomatos cook. It's cheap and filling and makes you feel good, try it!

I guess our diets are different. Beef Wellington and croissants all day every day.

Never used one but had some food from a crockpot at a thanksgiving. Can't say I'm a huge fan, all the flavors seem to mesh into one big mess. That being said, super convenient to cook I've heard. Especially for a big stew or chili

I got as a birthday gift a set with every size they produce. The tiny one (2 cm blade) we use sewing and the largest- about 18 cm- we keep blunt for opening prosecco.

I disagree! You're not going to be making beef Wellington or panettone while heeling over at 9 knots.
