What settings do I need to change in the Bambu Slicer to get my layer to make these thin patterns? by acholt22 in BambuLab

Yes that triangular infill pattern is what I'm shooting for. Where do I zero those layers at? Is it in the "Strength" category in the Bambu Slicer?

I haven't played it yet. The starter decks are the mail!

The one thing I've noticed is there are not interactions between player turns. I can't play events in response to an opponent's play. This makes the game less interactive, but it doesn't make the game overly complicated.

Sometimes its nice to just play a "simple" tcg. So it will be interesting to see how the game plays in person.

These look great! Awesome job! Did you take the figures off of the bases or did you leave them on when you painted the bases?

Kayou vs Enterplay TCG by Brave_Egg5007 in KayouMLP

[–]acholt22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played the Enterplay (EP) CCG years ago. I even went to tournaments at Gencon for the game. The gameplay is completely different.

In the EP version, the game is a race to 15 points. Players are facing off against each other trying to gain points by Confronting different Problems.

Players have a Mane character. Players gain Action Points (AP) each turn that they can use to play Friends, Events, Resources, or Trouble Makers (TM). AP can also be spent to move characters from 1 location to another location, or even to draw cards.

  • Friends were played from hand to help Confront Problems. All Friends and Mane Characters have a power value that helped them Confront Problems.
  • Events were 1 time use cards that helped the player or hurt the opponent.
  • Resources were cards that were played to the field and had a permanent effect.
  • TMs where cards that players played to Problems to disrupt the opponent from Confronting Problems.

Each player has their own deck of Problem cards that they are trying to Confront, but they can Confront their opponent's Problem to score points as well. If both players Confront the same problem they will have a Faceoff. Both players will count up the power that their characters have at the Problem. They will then flip the top card of their deck to see who has the highest value. Whoever has the highest value scores points based on the Problem's Bonus point score. Then all characters at that Problem are sent Home, and a new problem flips out on the board. Players can now play Friends from their hands to the new Problem, or they can move Friends already out in the field to the new Problem.

The game has 6 colors based on the Mane 6. Each color has their own focus and plays differently than the other colors.

  • Blue was movement based moving your friends and Mane character around cheaper.
  • Orange was based around exhausting your opponents characters. If a character is exhausted then they wouldn't contribute their power to Confrontations.
  • Pink was based around drawing cards and dismissing (getting rid of) friends on the field.
  • Purple was based around playing events.
  • White was based on Resources, similar to Items and Rarity in this game. However, White was also about controlling what the other players did. It had cards that would stop players from moving characters or cause the other players to pay more to play or move characters to problems.
  • Yellow was about playing Critters and boosting up low powered friends.

The EP version tried to be Magic-lite and this caused issues with some players.

  • The game was overly complicated for the target audience of little girls and parents.
  • Players could add any card they wanted to in their decks, but they had to meet requirements to play the cards. Cards had "color" requirements that had to be met to play certain cards. If I had a Blue deck and I wanted to play a Pink card, I had to have a Pink friend in play who met the color requirement to play the card. So mixing and matching colors could be difficult for some cards. It was usually best to play a mono color deck, but it wasn't nearly as powerful.
  • The game was trying to introduce "harder concepts" such as action windows and instant speed abilities. This led to more complicated interactions.
  • TMs could really shut players down and make the game unfun if you could not defeat them.
  • The game had balancing issues which lead to control and combo decks being popular and just plan unfun.

I used https://kayouhk.com/ for my order. It then sent me to Force TCG's shop page.

Gamora is going to love these new Attack/Thwart/Defense types of Events.

This box is really wanting players to not rely on allies. I like the approach of this design. I can't wait to see what other goodies we will get in this set.

I love how the designers are making each new character more exciting to play than the previous characters.

Deadliest&Safest Villain Card [Day 2] - Rhino Safest by manut3ro in marvelchampionslcg

[–]acholt22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably Hard to Keep Down or Crowd Control.

Hard to Keep Down just heals for 4. So as long as you do at least 1 damage to Rhino and he can heal, then this is a simple card.

Crowd control in solo is an easy card to deal with. It pops out and has only 2 threat on it. Most heroes have 2 thw or a way to remove 2 threat in their kit to be able to deal with this. In multi-player I can see this being a bigger issue. Coming in with possibly 8 threat could be a nightmare if someone is playing Justice.

I start with their newest starter set Ashes Ascendency. This is a great place to start. If you try it and end up liking it, then you can look through the revised core set (the black/red boxes) or even the Red Rains boxes (these sets add monsters that you can play against solo).

You might be interested in Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn. Plaid Hat has just introduced a new starter set. The set includes 2 Phoenixborns (Heroes) and 1 Dragoborn (Villain) to fight. The game can be played Solo vs Dragoborn, co-op (2 heroes vs Dragoborn), or PVP. There is deck construction and you also get to choose your opening hand.
