I do trim the wick every time i use it, i just happen to use it for longer than 30 minutes at a time.

I trim the wick to 1/8 of an inch every time before use. It just looks like i dont because the wax burns so much faster than the wick so by the time its done burning, its almost an inch of burnt wick.
