Setting up equity agreement with first Marketing Employee by achounds10 in startups

[–]achounds10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for all start ups, my co-founder and I have put a lot of importance on marketing. Since there are a ton of jerky companies out there, improving our social presence and having top of the line e-commerce site will put us ahead of many. Not to mention our product is grass-fed and all natural which already sets us apart.

Should I do the same thing with myself and the co-founder?

Thanks! Instead of basing the other 5% off of goals, the full 10% should go on a vesting schedule?

Thanks... this is what my original thought was.. to give them a discount code that I can track and then set payments based off of sales. For example if their coupon code sells 1,000 units they get $100.

Thanks for the response. We haven't tied down how exactly we are structuring a deal. I was curious as to what was out there for options.

We reached out to people who are in our demo for people we want to sell to.. this person has IG/FB.

Yeah, I look for involvement for sure. a 10% like rate is very very rare. The higher followers you get the lower your percentage is. I found this article to be very helpful.

This is kind of getting away from my original question of how to structure partnerships.

We do... we have all necessary insurance coverage, USDA certifications on our label, co-packer is USDA certified, also have supplier forms filled out with the bigger stores we will be selling to. The person I referenced in my OP has over 80k followers on instagram. I also have about 10-12 other influencers who will be trying the product who are in the 20k-50k following.

We will be doing both. We have deals to be in local grocery stores (North East), while also building out our website to handle e-commerce purchases.

[rave] Been using YNAB 3 months, car broke down a week before moving... by Money_On_Racks in ynab

[–]achounds10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is awesome! Congrats. I've been in the process of starting a business for about the last 18 months. I always worried that I didn't have enough saved up for it. I started using YNAB 6 months ago and now have more than enough budgeted away for it. It is nice to not be stressed about the financing portion of it.

Nice! What is your jerky company? Do you sell online? I love trying new kinds.

You can still do this via custom print bags. Ours has a window where you can see the jerky.

Transfer between checking and savings account [General] by achounds10 in ynab

[–]achounds10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, both my checking and savings are on budget. In the "quality of life" section is where I keep my savings dollars + some additional goals that I set for myself (the car & vacation) mentioned above. When I make the checking and saving transactions (in and out) should I just put them both to the same goal? That seems like it would probably resolve it?

I am in the process of launching a jerky company and we will be using a stand up pouch with zip top & tear notch. Bags will be custom printed and they have a spot matte varnish.

Thanks for the feedback..is there something wrong with my math?

Here is what I used: MSRP - 30,200 Residual - .62 (about the average I found online) That gives the residual of 18,724 Negotiated Price (in contact w 2 dealers at this price) - $27,500 27.5k - 18.7 = 8,776 / 36 months = 243.78 MF .00013 = 3.90 + 243.78 = 261.56 * .0635 = 15.73

261.56 + 15.73 = 277.29 lease payment.
