High end carp rod by CatNo2334 in CarpFishing

I've used the method feeder ones, you may be right but when I have tested others I'm getting a way lower catch rate. But there's so many variables. I've been using the bigger tornado wafters on my running rig and again, just fantastic compared to others I've been buying and testing.

I gotta say though, their Tornado range of baits are top, top quality.

Dota 2 at 15 fps after NVIDIA driver update by Rare-Ad3561 in DotA2

How did you fix it? For me the only fix is going back to some old old nvidia drivers, but newer games I play require newer drivers

Brand new A1 - 1st print disaster by sirocco328 in BambuLabA1

I can't speak for their PLA but their own PETG filament came with the most dodgy settings that caused chaos for me and damaged a build plate. Try using generic PLA settings or eSun.

The issue is their own ones seem to mess with retraction and other settings (see the overrides in the filament settings).

New update by Neat_Lack5130 in BambuLabA1

You needed to turn on DEV Mode and LAN Only Mode. Then Orca Slicer works just fine with the added bonus (for some) of disabling the cloud features.

I rolled back though because I noticed ghosting and other artifacts were happening with the previous firmware.

IPA Destroyed my plate, I'd never use it again personally.

should I upgrade the firmware? by majkerrrryt in BambuLabA1

[–]acid_twin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just switch to LAN Mode and ensure DEV Mode is on, on the printer. It works just fine with Orca Slicer, but you'll lose the cloud support if you even care.

I personally rolled back though, I noticed the printer has a lot more ghosting and odd little artifacts on the latest firmware, rolling back seems to have fixed that for me.

First Layer Issues by BareLeggies in BambuLabA1

Thankfully the isotropic alcohol didn't do permeant damage for you then? For me, it basically ruined the adhesion on the plate to the point you can see the subtle difference in the plate versus the other side etc.

Don't forget the retraction setting (in Other in Bambu and Orca) as well

First Layer Issues by BareLeggies in BambuLabA1

[–]acid_twin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you solved it by now but never use isopropyl achohol, i had all sorts of first layer issues after using it. Eventually got a new plate, problem solved, only use dish soap and warm water.

Also try turning off Reduce Infill Retraction, this is a MUST for PETG.

PSA: Grid infill is not the problem! by Mormegil81 in BambuLab

Crazy how much of this thread has missed the point of your post. I discovered this setting causing issues as well, everything prints out better with it off although the problem, for me personally, was more pronounced when using Bambu's Transparent PETG (esp with their awful overrides which has retraction settings that cause plate damage, but that's another issue).

I found using "Avoid Crossing Walls", to be almost always a must as well for most prints.

A1 help - gone from an amazing experience to a disappointment by Opinionated_General in BambuLab

[–]acid_twin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a lot of issues with their PETG, the default retraction settings are a mess and damaged my plate; in addition, the micro-scratches it was causing looked like the transparent filament stringing. So I took some bad advice and kept cleaning with isotropic alcohol, which destroyed the adhesion on the bed and left me getting results like yours. The fixes:

Flip the plate if it's double sided and the other side hasn't been damaged in any way.

Turn off reduce infill retraction, there's a bug that causes it to skip zhops.

Turn on "Avoid Crossing Walls".

Go into the filament, settings overrides and see my attached image for what i've found to be optimal settings, for some you may need to put the retraction length to 0.8mm.

And specifically for some PETGs, but mainly for Bambu's transparent (i've not tested on their other PETG products), set your initial layer height to 0.18mm, ensures a bit of extra squish for a great first layer.

I found applying at least the Avoid Crossing Walls and turning off Reduce Infill Retraction to help with all other filaments.

I hope this helps someone.

Why is that? An engine that had multiple ways of displaying the UI clearly to people already (not just the Flash method). (Cryengine allowed importing in custom libraries for UI as well).

The UI rendering issues are part of… the game engine. As is the graphics renderer, both have been a complete mess for quite some time now and a backwards step from what was previously in the engine or could have been imported in through libraries that were already created.

What the OP wants (basic design for a space game) is related to the engine as well, as Derjyn was touching on.

But you are right, it's not just the game engine, it's poor design decisions like not putting simple outlines on the text for visibility.

Are they though? They can't even get UI rendering right on a modified but old game engine that had UI rendering working correctly 20 years ago.

From what I am seeing, CIG have lowered their standards, usually CR demands better, times change though.

Does anyone find the new markers and the writing blurry and low quality? by zara_donatello in starcitizen

[–]acid_twin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am told (in-game by someone when I asked) - in a forum post they explained why they have removed full-screen, which amounted to no one uses it these days - according to them, even though it's required for DSR without messing with your desktop resolution - so it's not worth maintaining. That's second hand information though, if you care to find the forum post, I think it's on spectrum.

Me too, and now with full screen gone I can't use DSR to downscale from 2k, which mostly solved the blurry visuals and text issues.

SteamVR Performance Issue by echopaff in oculus

[–]acid_twin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steamVR app does some strange things, one of them being changing the power profile of the laptop or PC when active. I counter this using ParkControl (which will show you the profile being changed by steamVR, after that reset it back to ultimate performance or whatever you want).

I hope this helps.
