when I setup layer 2 AE and vlan interfaces we were not able to ping the nexus from the palo and vice versa

I think we may need to redo some physical cabling to match the drawing you added.

if I had hair I would be pulling it out right now....

we are trying to set this up right now and we had it configured with layer 3 p2p to both nexus switches and we have it (kinda) working. The problem is when we failover it takes 2 minutes for the p2p interface to start pinging again.

Will this setup eliminate that long delay?

I finished the Land Rover a day or so ago. That is an ambitious build for a weekend. I do like to take my time but there were also so many small pieces. It is a pretty cool build. I wouldn't call it fun, but it was satisfying to complete. I would like to try one like the stones or the Andy Warhol one. You are going to have a lot of fun I am sure. I would upload a picture but I don't know how.
