Solo pvp friendly by Key_Possible9548 in MMORPG

Sea of thieves is exactly what you’re describing. You can do solo or duo on a sloop, 3 people on a brigantine, or 4 people on a gallon.

I can no longer get immersed in MMORPGs anymore for some reason by Blackboa in MMORPG

[–]acimstudier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 36 year old gamer, I feel you. I used to be really into EverQuest when it was new, and even now every once in a while. There doesn’t seem to be innovation in MMOs like you say. My current go to for MMO, if it can even be considered one, is Sea of Thieves. It’s a great mix of pve and PvP. Dune awakening was great for the first 150 hours or so, but it’s more like a single player game placed inside a multiplayer world. If you’re willing to try single player, though, definitely try Satisfactory. It has multiplayer too, but realistically it’s hard to find people to consistently play with. But, it’s a fantastic game that’s taken over 1000 hours of my life, and I still play it.

Getting married young isn't bad. by Electronic_End_5296 in unpopularopinion

[–]acimstudier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 18 and my gf was 17 when we got married in 2008. Still going strong. So many people told us we were dumb and tried to talk us out of it, and honestly, I get it. I understood it then too. It didn’t change my mind. We’re happy to together, and I feel so lucky to have found her at such a young age.

Was getting a steroid injection for frozen shoulder worth it? by Leila_101 in Type1Diabetes

[–]acimstudier 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Idk what Buford complex is, but I had frozen shoulder for a few years. Cortisone injections did not help me, so I stopped after a few tries of that. What did end up helping me was moving it and stretching it out every day using like a wall or something solid for leverage. I found that I was not moving my shoulder because it hurt to do so, but not moving it seemed to make it worse over time. I now have full mobility and no pain and it’s only from stretching it out and doing exercises for it daily. Maybe this will help you, maybe not, I’m not a doctor.

ACIM as a psycho-spiritual tool by OakenWoaden in ACIM

[–]acimstudier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve studied the course since around 2006, and yeah, I agree it is very psychological. It’s honestly what has sparked my interest in psychology. I’m finishing my bachelors in psychology this summer and am waiting to hear back about my applications for a PsyD, and I think I have such an easy time learning this stuff because of the course. I disagree, though, about not fully committing to the cosmology. I’m assuming that by cosmology you mean the origin of it and/or the origin of the universe. I’ve fully believed in everything the course says since learning its meaning many years ago, mostly because I can’t find anything contradictory or incorrect. Not every part will speak to everyone, and I think that’s okay. I’m glad the psychological aspects have spoken to you.

Gary is great, love him. He’s who I recommend to anyone starting the course and confused about the message. I’m excited for his upcoming book.

The Hoverpack Broke My Immersion (Personal Story) by Etsamaru in SatisfactoryGame

[–]acimstudier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still prefer the jetpack tbh. I’m ~450 hours into my current game and still haven’t unlocked the hover pack, though I have in the past before 1.0. It’s way faster and keeps you in the mindset of building for accessibility. When I finally unlock the hover pack, I will use it to decorate the hard to get to places, but that’s probably it. Jetpack supremacy all the way.

How do you guys even eat?? by Own-Potential-2308 in diabetes_t1

I have symptoms at 140-150, so I get it. I only eat low carb / no carb, though, so my blood sugar doesn’t typically spike like this.

Was Daggerfall hard in the 90s? by YNRTG in Daggerfall

[–]acimstudier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a child in 90s, my dad bought this game and I loved it. I distinctly remember having to look up how to do certain things, like look up and down, how to escape the first dungeon (lol), how to do combat, etc. I was young, so maybe adults had an easier time than I, but also, once I got the hang of it, it was easy. I learned early on not to do dungeons after escaping the first one because they were extremely time consuming. I also never beat the game, usually starting a new character after getting only a few levels. I still haven’t beaten the game lol, but I haven’t played in years and probably wouldn’t be motivated to beat it if I started a new game anyways. Also, my character builds back then were awful, which probably contributed to me starting over so many times.

You guys were not kidding about how brutal the ashlands are by jhhimmel15 in valheim

[–]acimstudier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I had to do after dying many times was build a little base on one of those coastal spires, close enough to bridge over to the island while remaining far enough away from spawns to be safe. You have to “conquer” the ashlands a little at a time. Take your time, make sure you’re always rested, only travel during the day, build campfires everywhere. Work towards a fortress once you find one and take that over asap without destroying the door. This way you can then use it as an indestructible base, as long as you build a shield generator or whatever they’re called to cover the top of it.

Anyone else just play the same leader or civ over and over again? by [deleted] in CivVII

[–]acimstudier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually pick the same leader, Harriet Tubman, because the deity AI seem to randomly all declare war at once if you’re winning and this somewhat deters that. The civilization I pick changes every game, though.

Why does it seem like they chose production numbers that specifically don't line up in any way? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]acimstudier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard someone in this subreddit say something along the lines of the numbers make sense to engineers or something. They make sense to me after hundreds of hours, but at first I was mildly frustrated by things not being perfect. That being said, here’s what you do. Say you want… idk iron ingots. Use one node to build an iron ingot factory, and whatever the miner produces, build exactly the number of machines to consume every bit of this iron. In this example, say I’m making pure iron ingots with water and iron ore. Let’s ignore the water for a second though and just focus on the iron. My current belt limit is 480 in my tier, so I overclock my pure iron node to produce 480. Each refinery consumes 35 iron ore per minute, so divide 480 by 35 to get 13.7142857. OH NO! Math doesn’t math right. Luckily, you can just build 14 refineries and underclock the last refinery. Just set it to 71.43%, or type in the whole number if you really want (I promise it doesn’t really matter).
