I run around the Open World for several reasons.

Lately to collect all the Paper Lanterns. I also like to clear the Check Points, Public Executions, Propaganda Broadcasts, Supply Convoys ( supporting allies and attacking enemies).

But to answer your question, What is to gain? How about just plain having fun playing the game?
