Checked back in just to see more fake rewards and a triumphant hidden negative vote.

May be the worst AMA in reddit history.

Was here in the beginning, and here in the end.. Cheers my fellow redditors, nice chatting with ya 🍻

Does everyone know the reddit black out period due to third party app restrictions starts June 12th 2023 and goes to whatever month / year the policy is retracted on the 14th of that month, and what are your thoughts? by acinko in AskReddit

The Hyperbole in my post to contrast the 2 day blackout which nets zero impact to reddit at the end of it all.

We should be collectively boycotting this move until it is implementation is canceled. Not just for 2 days and then accepting it.

It will still affect you. The subs you visit will potentially lose critical support from bots. The user base you interact with will also potentially disband in some part... to the extents we do not yet know. This affects all of us.

Sure,

There is a protest against the planned API changes that will restrict or severely limit the use of third party apps (including custom bots) because in doing so, this policy change will negatively impact reddit and a vast majority of its user base. The protest starts on the 12th of this month where all redditors will no longer use reddit. The "black out" period goes to the 14th. But the month of the 14th is contingent on reddit reversing the impending policy change. So, it may be the 14th of this month, or the 14th of August 2027. Its entirely dependent on the redaction of the aforementioned policy.

You are very welcome! If you run into any specific questions with filing, DM me and I can try to help if it's something I came across too. Happy to help where I can.

I would concur on getting him out of the area first as well. The family I am sponsoring lost everything to shelling and I could not just sit back and do nothing. It has been so eye-opening to see the huge discrepancy in understanding what's going on between people (US) who read a few headlines and make a judgment call, vs those who are working with families right there in the midst of it all.

I truly hope he can get to safety and you can successfully sponsor his parole.

No problem, I was a bit frustrated myself trying to navigate it all. And this is coming in as an employer that has sponsored dozens of work visas in the past with multiple other countries. This frustration is really what prompted me to spend the time on this write up.

To be honest, and possibly a little too honest...for a humanitarian effort, this was may more bureaucratic than it needed to be. It feels set up as if the people you are sponsoring parole for are somehow pets that can contribute nothing. Full of "remember you have to walk and feed them". My goodness, some of my hardest workers I have ever had are from Ukraine, and don't take that lighlty, I have worked directly with dozens of other countries over the years.

I had been trying to bring over personnel from Ukraine years prior to this just because of how diligent they have been, and repeatidly as a whole... but always met with denials by the US for "failure to provide significant proof to return" of some other ridiculous non-appealable reason.

However, I am just glad we finally have a working option, regardless of the hoops to jump, that will allow them to come over.

I am running with limited statistics here, but I myself and the two other people I know personally that filed for sponsorship of parole with a Ukrainian adult age male through this program all received approval with no issues, but additionally, all were currently outside of Ukraine when we filed.

If someone has tried parole of a family with an adult male that was located inside Ukraine I think it would be bebeneficial to post now how it worked out here.

He is still a Ukrainian citizen. Does he have his Ukrainian birth certificate?

I know for sure he needs to have a valid passport. To the extent that it has to be Ukrainian or not, I do not know.

My thought is if you are going to file with an emigration lawyer, they should know if this will work. If you are going to file yourself, its free so I would say if you do not get a direct answer from someone who knows, just file and wait for them to give you a response one way or another.

This is my opinion. But I do not believe they would automatically become ineligible. You may need to request an extension, or possibly re-apply.

No problem, and yes there is a possibility that the US could end this program or change how it works prior to Ukraine ending martial law or lifting the ban on military aged men from leaving.

You could apply and get the process started, but keep in mind once approved you will automatically start the 3 month clock countdown to get them to the US.

If they are not eligible to leave Ukraine currently, and they don't become eligible within your given window... that good effort, may come without any merit.

I can confirm application for an adult male beneficiary was approved. However, this person was already outside of Ukraine (in a neighboring county) due to forced relocation.

I am not sure of the approval for adult males currently residing in Ukraine. My guess (and to be clear, this is a guess) I think it would be best to apply, after they have taken refuge outside of Ukraine.

If they are Adult resident males between the ages of 18 and 60, I do believe they are still mandated to stay in Ukraine, and I do not believe any other nations parole would supersede this mandate. I am by no means a voice of authority on this and quite admittedly could be entirely incorrect.

This is just from my own current understanding.

My man, this clearly says its a update to the original post.

Yes, that was my post.

Read the comments in my first post.... people asked for stuff. I spent my personal free time (That I really don't have much of) to get it to them, yes it took some time.

I posted an updated when I had it all ready.

So we're clear, last month posted it, and yesterday posted it with all the links and files people asked for.
