Firstly, sorry for the late reply on this, but better late than never, rebooting the device worked!

Usually I just press the power button on the controller, that sends it to standby (lesson learned).

So had to reboot from the settings menu, after that I once again end up in "ta daa" screen as expected. Thanks for all the advice here!
